Laura Rangel was the original choice for Linore Glass. She was MIA within four days of the shoot. JohnPaul Ouvrier, who plays Jonathan Marcus, called Katharyn R. King and recommended Cecily Gish, who came to do a cold reading the night before production began. Marci Richmond was also contacted and showed up for a last minute cold reading. After hearing and seeing both women, King settled on Marci Richmond, citing her enigmatic presence as the winning factor.
Other actresses considered for the role of Linore Glass were Annabeth Gish and Kate Mulgrew.
The writer and director, Katharyn R. King, suffers from schizophrenia.
Marci Richmond received the script the day before shooting began and was almost completely off-book by the first take. She spent every spare moment with the director to help herself prepare more fully for the role of Linore Glass.
