The true story behind time travel . . .
pixrox125 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
. . . or at least the true story concerning a real-life time travel hoax. John Silveira, the subject of this short on the DVD for the feature SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED, wrote the classified ad that serves as the starting point for this movie to fill a small gap in the back pages of BACKWOODS HOME MAGAZINE, Issue 47. This ad read "*WANTED* Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. P.O. Box 91, Ocean View, WA 99393. You'll get paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety NOT guaranteed. I have only done this once before." Silveira got more than 1,000 real life replies to this ad (since a lot of gullible nuts who believe in Bigfoot live in the Washington area). He's yet to open "several hundred," and he still gets them as of the time this "extra" was shot this year. He may even get one from YOU, if you live in the Pacific Northwest, where it seems ANYTHING is possible. Silveira concludes this 2:20.03-minute long piece by stating, "If I could go back in time, the first thing I'd like to do is go back and see dinosaurs to see how they change and how they live." Well, John, I've heard there is a Creationist museum somewhere around Tennessee that practically does this exact thing: don't wait, go for it!!
