But an effort at what?
We have small town people doing small town things. Mostly that means the males are drinking and wasting their lives. Oh well, youth is wasted on the young. But they don't stop preaching there.
Ultimately, this film is about chasing your dreams and overcoming your fears. However the way it is brought about is cheesy and contrived. By my calculation, our main character is in a new relationship for 7 weeks when she leaves him because he isn't writing. Mind you, he has already quit is ridiculous drunken behavior. Give the guy a few steps. Nope. She can't.
It is well acted and occasionally funny. It is equally as often awkward as the chemistry with the couple doesn't always seem to work... Or perhaps the dialogue or direction fails in these spots.
Still, I did enjoy it overall. Much better film without the preaching. Not going to fault direction, acting, photography. Just seems to fall flat on script in general.
