If you wondered what went wrong on Schrader's Dominion and want to see how the final released film was rushed through post with very little money to finish it, this documentary is for you. Heck, if you want to know why Hollywood is so messed up and how much meddling there is on films, Schrader's Exorcism gives you plenty of insight. I really feel bad for Paul Schrader after watching this. I actually really liked his prequel to The Exorcist and if the studio hadn't gotten cold feet but instead had faith in his vision, I think his film would have turned out even better; however, I would still argue his film is fantastic and a million times better than Renny Harlin's terrible version (hey I love Cliffhanger and I think he got a crap deal in the process too but Schrader's film is better in every way since it's far more interesting, subtle, artistic, atmospheric, etc.). I'm really glad I bought the DVD of this when I could since I don't know how you'd get it now but if you can track it down, it's definitely worth it.
