Disappointed. My favourite Solo Wu album
noakesjames-4049523 March 2023
This is my favourite non group Wu album. The 3 episodes in this season, Dirty, Rae and Gza although had their own merits and moved the story forwards in a non direct way, also slowed the flow. For a group know for their flow, this was disappointing. There is so much more they could be telling now, Deck getting his deal and album off the ground for one and where has Meth been this season? I love the ideas behind these but they've just distracted from the last few episodes of an amazing 3 seasons. I know this is the last of the 3 specials but I really hope the last episodes really pull the story back.

Best episode

If you've following the show this, year it's all about individual albums, and holy moly the genius episode came through on point, the way the had all parts of this episode come together and how everything was played out as a song of the album, but yo i gotta say, the parts where u heard the songs, not spiking anything but wow what a tremendous job with the music and the energy, make sure you've got a nice sound system with a good base before you watch this one, this episode was straight art, also don't forget what gza is all about, to wake up the minds Ave souls of our brothers and sisters, the game has changed but we won't give up the fight, Wu Tang is forever!!!!

Thankful there was only three...

I get what RZA and Alex were trying to do with the 3 "allegorical" episodes of the third season, but the fact remains that they completely interrupted the flow of an otherwise excellent season. Especially considering that the seventh episode, GZA's Liquid Swords, came on the heels of one of the best yet, the sixth episode, Shadowboxing.

I can see how episodes like these could have been very interesting... If the rest of the show itself hadn't been so good and engaging up to this point (I did really like RZA's episode from the second season that was done in a similar vein, when he was working on the music for Protect Ya Neck).

But I just can't see how they thought these "allegorical" episodes were a good idea when the question that had to have at least crossed their minds at least once, was "Is there a better way we could've done this".

Always looking on the bright side, me.. at least now, maybe, the half of the fans that hated 8 Diagrams will give it another chance since they definitely can no longer say it's the worst thing RZA has done...

I always dug it.

I also think this was the best episode

Anyone who doesn't think this episode slays isn't a real Wu Tang fan. This is the kind of art that puts these guys in another league. The way they wove the original art, music, and videos from Liquid Swords into the story was brilliant. This album is a literal masterpiece and has at least 4 greatest hit tracks and I love how they integrated them into this episode. Plus the special effects were hypnotic and the costumes were epic. Anyone who was around when this album and music videos were out has got to love the attention to detail in this episode. GZA really is the genius and these kids are blazing.

Bravo RZA and GZA and cast and crew, 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 Wu-Tang Forever.

Could have been way better

Warning: Spoilers
I am completely against all three episodes of ODB, Raekwon, and GZA. They were pointless and skippable and I couldn't focus or watch a continuous minute. I understand that they wanted something new out of the ordinary to show how it came to be, but I'd rather you show it to me straight and real.

I finished the show yesterday and I had to come back to this episode because EP10 was missing a lot of action. They could have cut off one of these 3 and gave the fans what they needed. Recording Triumph in the studio, how Deck came up with his verse, Nas collaboration on Only Built for Cuban Linx..., Ghostface and Raekwon recording Ironman together with Cappadonna.

Only for the real Wu Fans
evoslim16 April 2023
This was a phenomenal episode. The fact that this got such a low rating is evidence that non hardcore Wu fans watched this. If you been down with Wu Tang since 36 chambers and understand the depth that the Wu brought to hip hop, you'll love this episode. Episodes like this are a real treat. Unfortunately for many people, the W is nothing more than a symbol that they recognize and are just trying to fit in amongst us real hip hop heads. Peace god, how you god, studying 120 right now, call me back at the god hour.

You people who didn't like this episode need to go and pick up the Wu Manual and learn something.
