Why Danno Named HIs Daughter Grace!

Danno after he sets off a bomb meant for the Defense Secretary while giving a speech on accident. As McGarrett tells him he must remain calm. As Danno talks about his Newark NJ days as a cop there. As the bomb squad arrives to do their jobs.

He and his female partner check around an isolated building. While both are cornered in 2001 by Terenece Howard and one of his vicious gang members told in flashbacks.

Danno manages to kill Howard and the other gang members but can't save his partner after she is fatally shot by Howard. As he tries to get help, he sees the other police officers and firefighters cars going to a burning building. Which ironically happened on 9.11.01! The bomb squad and McGarret finally defuse of the bomb. As despite being a pain in the rear to one another, McGarrett and Danno have a strong bond and relationship that is continuing to grow.

Also Danno named his daughter Grace in honor and memory of his female partner also named Grace.

3.8 is ***1/2 -But No More Monkey Business, Please

While this was a very good episode, must Danno constantly keep referring to his daughter as monkey. She isn't one and this can be construed to be a racial statement by many. While his daughter isn't the prettiest of young ladies, this reference is definitely derogatory even though Danno doesn't mean it to be.

That being said, Danno relives his experience with the N.J. police department on that fateful day of September 11, 2011. Terrence Howard guest stars as a vicious dealer who corners Danny and his female partner and tragic consequences following.

All this is related in the squad car and while Danny is trying to be free as he has accidentally set a bomb to go off. Seems that terrorists have planted it while the Secretary of Defense is speaking at a Hawaiian event. The moments are tense and McGarrett and Danny show their friendship.

Danny Origins There

Danny has his life on the line as he must be and stay patient as a red dot goes and a bomb if he moves and is killed, as Steve must try to get his best friend and partner to remain calm.

Danny remembers that of his former partner Grace who did not let him drive his own car due to Danny not wanting to get shot and plus he was having now his former wife have their daughter named after the partner who was fatally shot by some thugs led by Terence Howard.

It goes into 9/11 and the current case where a thug tried to kill the Defense Secretary only to be thwarted by a cop as it is called suicide by cop there as the thug was killed.

It shows Danny as a loving caring man and loves his daughter and would do anything and everything for her.
