Stride of Pride (#7.3)

Tracy and Liz have an argument about whether women are funny. Jenna plants a story about her being 56 just so she can be especially hot for her age. Jack goes out with several women and finds out that one of the girls he has does the same, after he sees all her guys he realizes that he takes the place of the older guy.

Jack's story is very good. While it was funny I even felt bad for him and it does make one thin in a way. Jenna's story is kind of connected to his as well, only it is just outrageously funny. My favorite part was Kenneth trying to get out the magazine of her room and flirting with her in a very "Kenneth way".

A bit here and there

Normally I rate 30 Rock episodes highly, but here the plots were a bit scattered with no real spine to the script. Anyway, any 30 Rock is better than none at all I guess.

I was fascinated by the opening scene with Liz and Jack and in the background was an overly curious extra before the camera cut away to a close-up of Jack.

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.
