It's a magical Christmas treat.
Chillihead126 November 2022
Just enjoy, it is better than the depression that it drip fed from the news and social media. It's not high brow, it's not deep, meaningful or Oscar worthy but, it is peaceful and heart warming. People are perhaps becoming too worried about appearing dim by liking a film like this. Well, time to start living the lives we once did where magic, sparkles and love make the world a better place. Love, kindness, happiness and joy is the way forward. Be happy, be honest and JFDI before it's too late. Global warming, LGBTQ etc all meaningless if we aren't around to enjoy the peace that we deserve. XXXXXX.

It reminded me a lot of the AirBubbies, I'm already tired of them...
RosanaBotafogo21 March 2023
When Mother Christmas travels to Pineville, the playful children run away from the sleigh. Taking the concept of mischief to a whole new level, they begin granting merry wishes to the boys and girls of Pineville, but something goes terribly wrong and the Christmas spirit begins to fade. Now the children and Mother Christmas must race to save Christmas around the world.

Much less interesting than the previous one, which at least involved three dramatic Christmas stories, including parental abandonment, abuse and adoption, here there is a lot of music, fluffy puppies, talking reindeer, but nothing contagious, quite the contrary, not very attractive and charming , despite the vibrant colors and cool Natalina theme... It reminded me a lot of the AirBubbies, I'm already tired of them...

Fabulous Songs and Great Holiday Message Reminding Us of the True Meaning of Christmas
rannynm3 December 2012
This movie is all about some pups being taught some lessons since birth. Some of the lessons make them curious like the one about some magic crystals. They think that they are ready to be like their dad so they steal one from Eddie (the elf dog). At the same time Mrs. Claus is flying to town so they hitch a ride and want to try to grant wishes. They give some good wishes, but then they accidentally grant a very bad wish, and everyone starts to lose their Christmas spirit.

The main characters in the movie are Mrs. Claus, Eli (Santa's head Elf), The Reynolds family and the pups. My favorite character is Mrs. Claus because she cares a lot about others and loves all the Christmas spirit in the world. She is really good with kids and shows them all about Christmas spirit. I also really like the pups because they want to grant wishes, but it doesn't work out so well, so they have to help save Christmas for the world.

My favorite part in the movie is all the singing. I love movies that have a lot of music in them and I think that helps to make them more enjoyable to others too. The best musical number in the movie is when Mrs. Claus is in jail with some people she met and sings a really good song. It is so good it has been stuck in my head for three days! It makes me want to see the movie over and over again until I memorize the words.

I recommend this movie for all ages because it is a really good movie and I think everyone will like it. It has mostly singing that is all about Christmas, joy and cheer. I guess that there were some things that just might scare you but I think you will be alright. It is a really great holiday movie. Go out and buy this movie on DVD and Blu-ray now! Are you surprised that it sucks!?
sporeviews4 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Like the other movies she's been in, this one is only worth watching for Kaitlyn Maher. But otherwise, it's just painful!

The pups themselves are bland and obnoxious, the magic STILL doesn't make any sense, the implication in the message that there is NO love outside of Christmas spirit is downright DEGRADING to anyone who has ever loved anything, in other words EVERYBODY, and when you get right down to it, these pups were completely pointless! No seriously, there is a scene with a chalkboard showing animated chalk drawings of carolers, feeding the homeless, cheering up kids in the hospital, and the latest addition to a young family carrying on their own Christmas traditions; the movie never shows the pups doing ANY of this!

Nobody's lives were enriched by the pups' involvement! Sure they grant a wish here and there, but it wasn't because of them! Nobody thanked or even acknowledged the pups for what they did, because the pups had no part in granting these wishes! If Christmas spirit could be wished away completely by accident like this, I think that means these crystals don't actually need anyone for them to grant the wishes.

It could have gotten to Pineville by accidentally falling into Mrs. Clause's purse before she goes on her search for the new ambassador, it overhears and grant's any and every wish within earshot, (even the bad ones), and the Mrs. and Kaitlyn save Christmas because they know that you can't destroy Christmas, as long as there is love in the world. There is literally NOTHING that the pups did, that couldn't be done by anyone else!

This movie will literally make your kids dumber
emmettmcp19 December 2021
Beyond ridiculous plot. Atrocious writing. Shamefully embarrassing acting. Fake sets and costumes. Silly and confusing additions to the Christmas mythology. How do these abominations get made? Everyone involved with this should be ashamed and deeply embarrassed to have been a part of it. Really great example of the vast chasm between good movies and bad. No kid should watch this.

A Canine Holiday Musical with darling pups, most families will enjoy it
inkblot1129 April 2013
At the North Pole, Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves are always busy. But, they also have a canine crew to help make Christmas wishes come true, Paws and Mrs. Paws. Now comes more golden helpers, with the arrival of four puppies. The three girl pups, Charity, Hope, and Jingle, join their only brother in classes taught by elves. You see, it will be the puppies future job to spread holiday cheer to communities and to reward unique wishes with the help of magic crystals. But, these little doggies have a great deal to learn, so no crystals yet. Naturally, they are too impatient. So, when Mrs. Claus (Cheryl Ladd) loads up a sleigh for an advent trip to the joyous community of Pineville, the puppies sneak on board AND pilfer an elf's stone. Once in the village, Mrs. Claus is mistaken for a new nanny for widower Thomas Reynolds (George Newborn) and his two kids, Sarah (Kaitlyn Maher) and her older brother, Carter (Josh Feldman). Having recently lost his wife, Mr. Reynolds is trying to make do by continuing a cheery radio program with help from his talented, singing daughter. But, alas, big brother is very much NOT in the holiday mood, still missing his mother greatly. Thus, the stage is set. Out come the pups and one of the first folks they run into is young Reynolds. As the boy opens his mouth to speak, the crystal is stroked to ensure a wish is granted. Right you are, the wish is for the Christmas spirit to vanish from the town! What have these puppies done and can it be corrected? As the "grumpy attitude" spreads like a cold from person to person, will Pineville have a dreadful season? This is a nice film for families, with darling canines and a good cast. Ladd, Newborn, and especially the very talented youngster Maher are quite fine and Maher can sing like a wee angel. Danny Woodburn is terrific as elf Eli. Also, the look of the film is lovely, with a sophisticated art direction, and it also has an enjoyable, funny tale. On top of it all, there are the adorable dogs who steal scenes and hearts. The only problem this viewer can see is not everyone enjoys musicals, with songs being sung to the interruption of the action. Nonetheless, most extended families will consider this a nice diversion for the holidays and "pause" to include it in an evening's get-together.

Family Fun Christmas Spirit.
P3n-E-W1s318 December 2016
This is a lovely Christmas film, full of the Christmas spirit and magic.

Being Disney, there are some things that you expect, like a good story, with decent actors and actresses, and special effects that give Disney it's magical touch. You will not be disappointed in this movie. Unlike the lower budget movies where the animals talk without moving their mouths or even directing their speech, here you'll believe dogs and reindeer can speak. The voice actors carry the script and characterisation off very well

The secondary human actors also do a great job. To be honest I only watched this movie to see how Cheryl Ladd (Mrs. Clause) was doing, as she's a favourite actress of mine but I've not seen her in anything for a while. She's still beautiful - lucky Santa - and still a good actress. Her portrayal as the loving Mrs Clause was spot on.

Even though, this is a musical I found that the songs weren't too grating and the actress playing Sarah Reynolds, Kaitlyn Maher, has a wonderful voice.

I really enjoyed this tale and would recommend it to all, young and old alike.

The lovable Buddies spread more Christmas cheer and mischief
ersinkdotcom6 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Disney continues their "Air Buddies" franchise with "Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups" this Christmas. After sitting through several of these movies, I can tell you that most of the time they aren't made for parents at all. I refer to these types of movies as "babysitters." You play them for the kids and exit the room immediately. That being said, I found this holiday entry into the series tolerable and easier to watch.

The Santa Pups sneak a ride on Mrs. Claus's sled as she heads to Pineville. Once they get to the town, they start granting the wishes of the children there. Unfortunately, one wish goes awry and Pineville's Christmas Spirit begins disappearing. Mrs. Claus and the Santa Pups must find a way to save the town and bring back Christmas Spirit to its citizens and the rest of the world.

It's easier for me to tolerate these ridiculously cute movies when they're wrapped in Christmas paper. I'm a sucker for anything that has to do with the holiday. "Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups" is also made watchable thanks to the fact that it doesn't lean as heavily on the animals like most of the "Air" and "Santa" Buddies movies do. The humans are involved in the storyline to a greater degree, making it easier for adults to identify with.

Cheryl Ladd stars as Mrs. Claus and pours her heart and soul into the role. It's hard to believe a Charlie's Angel is playing Santa's wife. George Newbern portrays a widowed father whose son has lost his Christmas Spirit. Most people will recognize him as Bryan MacKenzie in the "Father of the Bride" films. Danny Woodburn returns to the role of Eli the elf which he brought to life in the first "Santa Buddies" movie and its sequel, "The Search for Santa Paws."

The "Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups" will bring holiday cheer to boys and girls everywhere. Although some parents might find it difficult to sit through these movies, rest assured this one is easier to take in. One thing you can count on is it's appropriate for any age child and perfect for family night in front of a fire with the dim light of your Christmas tree in the background.

Cutesy but likable
clairestruthers11 December 2012
Well, first - hallelujah! This is a Christmas movie that actually mentions, if only obliquely, the REAL reason for Christmas! No, not jolly family get-togethers and being nice to strangers and animals, but Christ! Although, as I say, the mentions are very oblique and shouldn't offend any atheists.

Second - oops! Kids and adults alike will be confused by this movie. Kids will be confused because the little girl playing the lead role, Sarah (who has a dad), is the same actor who played the lead in the first Santa Paws movie - only in that one, she played an orphan called Quinn. Sarah looks precisely the same as Quinn (perhaps a year or so older), and has an absolutely indistinguishable character from Quinn (naive and cuuuuuute).

Adults will be confused because one of the three erstwhile sexy Charlie's Angels, Cheryl Ladd, plays a relatively glamorous but unmistakably matronly Mrs Claus.

Otherwise - the plot is predictable and clichéd, but bearable. And the pups, of course, are gorgeous. Oh - and this time, the majority of them (three out of four) are ... prepare for a shock ... FEMALE. Disney must finally be learning. Took them long enough ...

Thank you WD for this AWESOME treat
tennismenace25 December 2018
Not only did my 6 year-old granddaughter love it, so did everyone else. What is there not to like? The songs were endearing and the finale of Oh Holy Night sung by that adorable young girl had me in tears. The message was uplifting, the visuals were magical, the acting was spot on, and the writing was terrific. I did not see Santa Paws 1, but I will definitely be looking for it, for sure.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but maybe if someone didn't like this show, it is because they just don't have the Christmas spirit like they should. I can see if you don't have that, you probably would be grumpy watching this delightful show. Not me and this household. Two thumbs up for sure! I can't imagine any young child not loving this show even if you might not.

An Embodiment of Christmas!
Jace_the_Peanuts_Fan3 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Santa Paws 2 isn't as good as Santa Buddies or the first Santa Paws for the most part, but I still enjoy it regardless! I've heard complaints about the first Santa Paws being too dark and unsettling for a Christmas movie, but this one is more Christmasy and not so dark. If you don't like the former, you might like this better.

The Santa Pups granting wishes all around Pineville really shows the magic of Christmas and is a heartwarming premise! They give a girl her two front teeth, give another girl the ability to ice skate, and more. The special effects look real, most notably the dust from the crystals "showering" all over the place. As great as the premise is, the pups steal Eddie's magic crystal to be like their dad, and they still have a lot to learn in order to earn their own crystals, but they do learn from their mistakes and give Eddie his crystal back. They accidentally grant one wish that goes horribly wrong: A young boy named Carter Reynolds lost interest in Christmas due to it not being the same without his recently deceased mother, and he wishes for all the Christmas spirit in Pineville to go away, which leads to the Pineville residents' anti-Christmas demeanors spreading to one another like a cold, hurting them even the tiniest bit to do anything nice, not caring about those less fortunate anymore, and Mrs. Claus getting arrested. If the wish isn't reversed on time, Christmas spirit would go away forever. Thankfully, Eli and Eddie go all the way to Pineville and bail Mrs. Claus out of jail with the help of Carter and his sister Sarah. That, and Carter regrets his wish and wishes for the Christmas spirit to stay forever. The plot shows the importance of Christmas and to be careful what you wish for. I can't see why anyone wouldn't like this movie, unless they don't like Christmas and are struggling to find the meaning of the holiday.

Unlike a number of other holiday movies, the true meaning of Christmas is shown when Sarah sings Oh Holy Night in her dad's radio station at the end. The song is about the birth of Jesus, and that's the reason for the season, not jolly family get-togethers, giving to the poor, or spreading love and kindness like some other holiday stories say. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against those aspects of the holiday season, but Jesus's birthday is the real, true meaning of Christmas and why it's celebrated, and various other holiday movies make no mention of that. Not only does Sarah's song explain the meaning of Christmas, but it also plays on every radio in Pineville, which causes the "Christmas Cold" to come to an end and change the hearts of everyone who lost their Christmas spirit. I have got to admit that Oh Holy Night is a soft, sweet, beautiful, and relaxing song, and Sarah's vocals made it even better than ever! I can't blame her for changing the townspeople's hearts. Earlier in the movie, Sarah sings about how sad Christmas will be without her mother at the same radio station, which brings her dad (and me) to tears. Unlike her brother, that's not stopping her from loving Christmas, and she's immune to the "Christmas Cold." I'd have to agree with Mrs. Claus and the Bright sisters; her singing really is magical!

I give this movie a 7/10 for a reason: it doesn't have as much connection to Santa Paws 1 and Santa Buddies as one might think before watching this for the first time. The only characters from those movies who return are Santa Paws, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Eli, and Eddie. In Santa Buddies, Santa Paws himself is shown to be the single father of a son Puppy Paws. Ironically, Puppy Paws doesn't appear in this at all, nor is any mention of him made. Instead, Santa Paws is shown to have a mate named Mrs. Paws and 4 puppies named Hope, Jingle, Charity, and Noble, aka the Santa Pups. I'm guessing this is non-canon to its predecessors because of the absences of characters like Puppy Paws and no mention of them being made. The absence of the Hucklebuckles, despite their major roles in the first movie, is likely because New York City is the main setting in Santa Paws 1, and Pineville is the main setting here. Sarah could easily be confused for Quinn from Santa Paws 1 at first because they look exactly alike and are played by the same actress, Kaitlyn Maher. If this is canon, could Santa Paws have broken up with Mrs. Paws and had Puppy Paws with her before they broke up? Could Puppy Paws be from a different litter? Santa Paws 1 is a prequel to Santa Buddies, and there are no continuity errors in them, so those 2 movies are likely canon to each other.

If you're big into Christmas like me, you'll probably love Santa Paws 2, whether or not you like the first movie!
