It's a gorgeous adaptation.

Jane Marple visits Bertram's Hotel, a sophisticated, quaint hotel that she stayed at as a young girl. Fellow guest is the dazzling Bess Sedgwick, an adventurer, a woman who makes the extraordinary seem ordinary. Is Bertram's all it appears?

Almost too good to be true?

I have a degree of bias here, Bertram's has become a favourite story of mine, and as adaptations go, this one is quite accurate, it captures the story and spirit of the book.

Great opening scenes, it seems so odd watching Miss Marple horrified by a block of flats, we're used to seeing her in quaint English villages, it's about the only time we see her in The City.

The conclusion, it always confused me a little, strange to focus on The Cannon and not on Gorman.

The characters work perfectly, every single one of them brings something to the table, but of course it's Bless Sedgwick that catches your interest, Caroline Blakiston puts in a dazzling performance.

Great visuals, the cars and clothes look spot on, but Bertrams itself, I'd book in tomorrow.

9/10.
