A welcome return to the universe of The Green Knight
Makerbot13 January 2023
This short film is a fun little extra included with the A24 special edition release of the Blu-Ray of The Green Knight (available in standard and 4k separate releases).

Lowery has reported that it is based on existing Arthurian lore, however it's not one I've come across before. So, it was nice to watch something new to me from this genre/period/etc.

Both Sylvia Hoeks and Jackie Earl Haley do a fantastic job in delivering believable characters with emotionally driven objectives, some of which remain hidden until the end. Having seen Sylvia Hoeks in Blade Runner 2049, I was expecting a good performance, however, having only seen Jackie Earl Haley in Watchmen, it was nice to see him work his acting chops on screen again.

David Lowery has said this movie is supposed to be only released as physical media, and is well worth the price of the special edition Blu-ray, as the packaging is very nice, and the director's commentary is very insightful.

9/10 because it kept me captivated for the whole 20 minutes, and I came away having very much enjoyed returning to the world of The Green Knight.
