The story follows all girl group Tamla Rose through their career from their humble beginnings as background singers. The Motown like story reminds me much of the movie "The Temptations" put out years ago. One thing that stood out for me in this movie was the soundtrack. I was mesmerized by the trailer alone, listening to the compositions. Being that is primarily a movie based on the music business, this movie was a great find. The director took an interesting approach to the cinematography that most critics are quick to dismiss as bad filming. Filming this movie as if it were a throwback to the technology of the 80s gave it some charm and actually helped the story move along.
Movie critics are always quick to judge what is good and bad about a film yet they lack the experience of making a film to truly see what the artist (in this case filmmaker) is trying to portray. The chemistry between actresses Adi Alfa, Alexandra Johnston, and Tisha Merry really made the movie. It's not one I would miss and for the music alone I would give it a shot. You might be pleasantly surprised!
