Worth viewing and learning about this cult..

I was surprised to find out, that given today's access to the internet and media, a modern day religious cult would be living (perhaps) in plane sight, the US. However, being Latina and raised in church myself, I understand how a church could seduce members with a promise God and of a better life and salvation, especially one called La Luz Del Mundo (LLDM) The Light of the World when translated to English. For those unaware, the church is central to communities, in the Hispanic culture. They are a welcome reprieve and respite, especially for people newly immigrated to a new city or the USA.

What ex-members have to share is horrific. Plus they're talking in anonymity because of their fear of retaliation from the church makes their testimony more compelling and worth the watch. Their stories seem true because of the similarities with other cults known in history.

Unfortunately, the LLDM, seems to be growing exponentially and is securing land in the state of Georgia, USA 🇺🇸.

I worked in Latino communities in that state for 3 yrs and know that GA, according to the last US census, has had the largest & fastest growth of those groups. Therefore, there needs to be awareness of possible predatory behavior by the LLDM. Share the words and Learn more. Watch Unveiled.

Had no idea about this cult...

Warning: Spoilers
I had heard of La luz del Mundo only by chance because the current ruling party in Mexico was involved in some sort of scandal with them, however i had no idea it was a mexican cult nor that it had grown to the US and other parts of the world.

I think the documentary is quite well presented, allowing a lot of the victims to have their heard. I would have liked a longer series (in the way of The Vow which speaks of NXIVM) that spanned through two seasons. Somehow Unveiled: Surviving LLDM feels way too fast and condensed.

I rated it 8/10 because of the importance of the testimony given by the victims and because it makes a good research regarding the convicted sexual predator Naason Joaquin.

I hope this documentary allows other victims to come forward and seek out justice.

Regarding technical aspects, the editing was well done as well as the cinematic experience.

To have real info is not everything

A very interesting topic with a very poor leading guide. There's a lot of questions unsolved. When did Sochil decided to speak? How long did it take her to sue ? How was the process ? Did she need help trough the lawsuit process ?

Also, it wouldn't be that bad adding dates to the defining moments. It could be very helpful for survivors to have a parameter to know how much justice takes in America and in the same way , to feel related as a victim how long does it take to confront your aggressor. Ok

Not because you have real victims talking in your material all work is done. That's the beginning.
