What a waste of time. As with most masala movies, you would expect the initial humour, love chasing etc and for a bit and then things get serious. In DSP, it's like sitting on a plane taxiing on the longest runway without ever taking off. Complete lack of intelligence, with an all too familiar plot, lacklustre action and comedy scenes and pitiful characterization. Why do they make so many people look. And behave like utter idiots? And entire police station filled with numbnuts? The movie has a timeline that hops and skips all over the place and even the songs were painful to experience. DSP tries to be your typical masala movie with comedy, romance, songs and action. Unfortunately it fails spectacularly on all fronts. I usually enjoy masala movies of a similar plot but DSP left me laughing at the stupidity of it all. Why Vijay Sethupathi agreed to act in such a film defeats me really.

Movie is commensing with a slow motion drama and ending with an illogical theme. Same story of rivalry between hero and villain, same pathetic stereotype scenes,same climax , what we all have been watching from a decade .
There is no hope for something New and special .
A huge request from north india audience please don't disclose this kind of such a stereotype disasterious drama whatever is running through your some action sequences in this movie.
After 96 movie, Iam a fan of Vijay Sethupati and I used to watch every movies of Vijay without watching a review of social media, so please don't break that trust. We are in 2023 instead of 2003 . Don't do this kind of movies for money.

Its a torture movie are Director and actors on weed while making the movie Is it so easy to get DSP position. Actors were so Bad no sense nothing to watch for its I dont know how Vijay sethupati agree to do for this pathetic script. Villain focuses on Actor and actor focuses on villain..nothin else than this nothing to do with other character only thing and child also can predict what is the next part. Oh my God How Vijay can do this typ of acting. I dont know if it goes on theatre what will be the audience response thank God they released on Netflix in all language I watched on Hindi dubbing oh God so third class dubbing specially the songs.

This movie was released in Netflix. When I scrolled, it was Vijay setupathis movie. So immediately started watching this movie just thinking it might be good due to Vijay. It's totally bad movie. It's a just like usual masala movie without proper storyline and cringe comedy. Movie starts with huge belly police doing the ususal masala action hitting lot of villians. I thought this might be a dream sequence by Vijay but it was not. Then the flashback scene of character introduction and cheap comedy added in between. I tried to watch this but couldn't after 30 mins. The acting, dialogues are totally bad. Totally avoidable movie.

Vijay Sethupathi should realise that his body is not helping to his acting, especially the police officer character. He looks Pity, compared to Sethupathi.
The story is so weak and presentation is over dose of masala. There is not even single shot is original and its mix of all masala movie scenes.

The movie just tried to aet a plot without any story
There were time lapses as it skips at many places.
No link in the storyline.
Even the writing is very ill linked.
No seriousness of acting or even story building, fake actions and illogical screenplay.
I would have skipped this movie.
It starts with a sorry state normal citizen so called angry young man unhappy with a local goon. And the place name for the Hindi dubbed is kept as Dehu road which suits stupidly into the story.
The goon gets promoted himself to a politician with more ill deeds and this young man becomes a police officer.
And everything after that is just jumbled and copied from other movies.
No link in the storyline.

Below average, few funny scenes here and there. Not worth the watch. Don't wish to fat shame but Vijay badly needs to take care of his appearance.
No role for side actors, script is quite weak. The smoking scene with background music was unnecessary. Pandiamma character was funny the actor was great as usual. Skipped past most songs, as they lack a punch or replay value. Vijays last few movie's haven't been great, he's a great actor but needs to choose his movie's more wisely. Heroism alone can't carry a movie, story and supporting actors matter a lot.
Hope he learns from his mistakes and does better.

Vijay Sethupati must owe something to the producer that he agreed to do this horrible and one of the worst movies of all time. The 3 basic of a masala entertainer. Action, Romance, Comedy. And the movie tried it's best to fail on all fronts in the worst possible manner. In every scene Sethupati was either overacting or was just too lazy to act at all, words I thought I would never use for someone of the caliber of Sethupati. Like every scene is unbearable to watch.
This movie can be used in institutions as to what NOT TO DO when one makes a movie, that's how bad it is. Just skip this as "Not for me" when you come across on Netflix.

Such a let down.
I started watching it due to Vijay Setupathi only. But after 15-20 mins I realized that it's a worst movie ever acted in by him. The director and the story writer has done a pathetic job in spoiling this movie. Even Vijay didn't seem to connect with his character or the movie.
The cinematographer looks like is a newbie and a clueless bloke. Abruptly the scenes change and suddenly you loose track of the story.
Vijay needs to work on his physique and loose some weight as well.
The villain was good as he had a good screen presence. Even the actress did her job well.
Totally waste of time.

Botched up end to the movie

The story is typical is that of a typical Tamil "masala" movie. Even though the story was nothing special - it had the potential to be entertaining in parts. The entire sequence about the lead actor's sister's wedding was totally unnecessary and they could have used some of that time to build the main character. The songs were also unnecessary. The worse thing was how they botched up the ending as though the director ran out of budget and time so tried to wrap it up hurriedly.
Nothing special about the casting - they cast characters without any screen presence and who cannot speak a smattering of the language. The voice overs are also badly done.
I would NOT recommend this movie.

atypical commercial tamil movie

This is an atypical commercial Tamil movie with a plot that has been battle tested for about 2 decades and there's nothing special or new to describe in this one.
This is probably the director's worst or we've gotten bored with his kinda fun & making
the worst part was the female protagonist selection, I cannot get my head over thinking about how could one could cast a poor heroine in a film that has a decent director & a good hero in it, that IMO is a poor choice to ruin the overall film that has the weaker plot & screenplay with nothing notable to awe the audience.
Earlier we used to watch VS movies just because of his dynamic nature of casual acts fitting into the role and doing something different breaking the norm, he probably did the same in this one as well but the kinda effort that he's putting into that role has come down drastically and you could notice how his involvement in even making few dance steps is so lethargic & it feels as if he thinks that even if he doesn't do anything people would still watch him, just like how AK is doing but he's probably missing the point that AK has a die-hard fan following whereas his following aren't that kinda crowd, it'd better for him if he starts to learn this else its really difficult for his individual act/hero films to work out.
Overall, it's not even worth watching one time.

DSP is a commercial 'masala' film, that comes with an equal mix of action and comedy, sprinkled additionally with romance and sentiment. The movie should be a good time-pass entertainer if nothing else. Vijay Sethupathi got comeback after this movie. Second time seen as Vijay Sethupathi as a cop role. Moreover it is commercial film. Overall Vijay Sethupathi acting and d imman song is big plus for this movie. Pakka action film. What a comeback Vijay Sethupathi.... Fans please watch this it is really nice. Stepping away from his usual is not just the lead but also the film's director Ponram. After back-to-back rural comedies, the filmmaker had dabbed in some serious action. He has also tried his hand at lyric writing with the Annapoorani song. Ponram has reunited with his favourite music composer in DSP. The songs and background music heard in the promotional videos, seem like the complete package for a commercial film. DSP is a classic revenge story between a forced-to-hide hero, and a powerful 'rowdy' villain. How the cat and mouse action unfolds post the hero's rise to power, would be entertaining to watch. It is not often that one sees Vijay Sethupathi at the center of a commerical action comedy. It would be interesting to witness Vijay Sethupathi - the hero, after watching the actor in him for so long.
