Exceptional personality, composer, painter who really loved his country and everything around it like big green forests where he born or beautiful sea which scared him so much and in the same was drawing closer. In a creation of his music he saw images when he painted those pictures he heard music.Beloved so much in Japan after and must seen for anybody who is sensitive to greatest arts music and painting. Incredible and powerful soundtrack in a emotional sense. True story and nice love line. Genius himself played by real his offspring-virtuoso piano player one of the best in a world. Breathtaking experience and long lasting impression.Go for it and you wont regret it.

This movie leaves lasting impressions of the beauty of nature, art, music and love

This is a well-directed movie, capturing the character complexity and feelings of the Lithuanian genius who is an extraordinary artist and composer at the same time. The love story with Sofija, who is also a remarkable and strong woman, adds to the charm of the film. The scenes showing the beauty of nature, cities and country sights from the genius' beloved country are intertwined with corresponding music and art. The viewer gets a sense that the internal light in the artist's paintings and music comes from his deep visions and feelings, influenced by childhood memories, images of forests and sea and the newly found love. Finally, the movie also manages to portray the local political context in a small country torn between bigger powers and its impact on lives of the main characters.
