Vaas Montenegro (The mo-hawked villain on the cover of Far Cry 3) has a series of YouTube videos, demonstrating his favorite torturing methods on a Hollywood movie star.
Vaas, the game's most notorious antagonist, was almost not in the game at all. Originally, the writers intended to feature an antagonist named Bull, that is until Michael Mando auditioned for the game. After seeing Mando's audition, the developers scrapped the idea of Bull in favor of a bipolar, sociopath villain to match Mando's energy.
Elias Toufexis was originally cast as protagonist Jason Brody. However, he ended up being replaced with Gianpaolo Venuta, because the developers thought Toufexis sounded too similar to another video game protagonist he voiced, Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and feared the similar voices would keep players from becoming immersed in the game's story.
According to the "Stranded" trailer, there are two characters whose names were changed from the originals. Liza is referred to as Nikki by a character who appears to be Grant, however - if Jason was referencing this other male character in the trailer - his name was supposed to be Doug.
Former narrative director, Raphael Van Lierop originally intended the first 3 entries of the Far Cry franchise to be one cohesive story.
