Some memorable challenges have come from Sport Relief, such as David Walliams swimming the Channel and the Thames, and it was good to see another popular comedian doing an equally gruelling and difficult challenge, or rather three. John Bishop was given the challenge to cycle, row and swim two hundred and ninety miles from Paris to London, in five days, in order to raise a life changing amount of money for Sport Relief. The first part of the challenge saw John cycling from Paris to the port in Calais, and naturally the need for muscular strength and lack of sleep make this difficult. The second part of the challenge saw him row the Channel, alongside Davina McCall, Freddie Flintoff and Denise Lewis, from Calais to Dover, and his lack of sleep and coordination made him shortly delusional. The third and final part of the challenge saw John run three marathons, from Dover to Trafalgar Square, London, and again his need for muscular strength and lack of rest make him feel pressure, hardship and stress, but makes it. In the end he, his wife Melanie, son Daniel Bishop and son Luke Bishop are overjoyed as they are told that he has raised over £1,660,198 for the charity, so it the week of hell was completely worth it, you have to admire John going through all that and get such a wonderful result.
