- How does one grieve and move on from a terrible loss? Everyone's process is different. Dani's shocking death at the hands of Parish leaves Rosen and the team grasping for lifelines.
- We open with Rosen choosing a coffin for Dani.
The team processes what has happened. Clay shows up with his team, looking for intel. They head right for Rosen's office and nobody is happy about it. Clay asks the alphas team to help him pull together information.
John stops by to see Rachel. He gives his condolences and she asks him to "take me home."
A woman stops by the office with a baby looking for Rosen. She says she can't come back later and leaves the baby with Gary.
Hicks asks Nina to push him into forgetting Dani. She won't do it.
Gary shows everybody the baby, with whom he seems to be connecting rather well.
Rosen goes to Dani's place to look around. While looking through her stuff, Rosen's flashes to his statement to Clay about what happened with his daughter.
Rachel and John start to fool around. Rachel doesn't look happy.
Gary tells Harken the woman told him the baby was "special. Hicks rips Clay for not taking care of Parish sooner. Clay drops the bomb that Rosen invited them into the department.
Gary finds online that the woman who dropped off the baby was Magda Ryan. Jane and Brian Kessler arrive, claiming to the parents of baby Adam. Harken asks for some ID and they say the Ryan woman took Adam because she thought he was an alpha and wanted Rosen to examine him.
Following sex, neither Rachel nor John look especially happy.
Wtill in Dani's room he recalls talking to Clay about Dani's covert work. Rosen talks about Parish.
Gary continues to related with baby Adam on some level. Harken comes in to get the baby and Gary tells him no, pushing him out of the room and locking the door. Harken and Nina try to talk some sense into Gary, who thinks it's suspicious that Brian and Jane don't have anything other than driver's licenses.
Clay tells Harken that their department will be HQ for the Parish investigation.
Rachel and John have coffee and talk about why the sex wasn't great. John thinks it felt like Rachel was distant. She tells him that her first time was overwhelming because of all the senses. She mentions that he hid his scars. He talks about his ex and they start to kiss. At this moment her father walks in. It seems to bother them and they go back to it after he leaves.
Hicks finds Rosen in Dani's place. Hicks is upset that Clay is in charge of the investigation and Rosen isn't doing enough to find Dani's killer.
Harken tells Brian and Jane that Gary is autistic and has for some reason made a connection with their son. They don't want Rosen anywhere near the situation and give Harken 30 minutes to fix things before they call the police.
Harken asks Brian about Gary's record suspicions, while Nina uses her ability on Jane in another room. Jane admits they aren't the baby's real parents and the woman who brought the baby in took care of him in the lab. Brian and Jane turn the tables on Harken and Nina and it becomes clear they are alphas. They demand Gary give them the baby, but Gary refuses. Harken and Nina get back in the fight and take them out.
Another flash to Rosen's statement to Clay, this about the grenade explosion that killed her. Rosen looks at her art and recalls saying that whatever happens to Dani was his responsibility.
Rosen returns to the department and tests the baby's blood. He finds that Adam has the ability to increase the hormone to protect in anyone he comes in contact with. Rosen gives Gary something to drink that returns his levels to normal.
The sex goes much for Rachel and John this time around.
Harken and his wife bring Adam home. It's temporary, but she seems interested in keeping him.
Hicks and Rosen talk again. Rosen reminds him that they weren't the ones who killed her. Hicks wants to get to Parish before Clay does, and Rosen seems to like the idea.
