Working a dead end phone sales job, Mary struggles every day to earn enough "peppers", or leads, to get her boss, Snyder, off her back. One day, Mary's co- worker in the next cubicle, Sandra, sees her struggle and passes off a cryptic business card with a promise to "change her life". Scared of her own shadow, Mary barely manages the strength to go to the address on the card. Once there, she encounters a group of verbally combative women who use their words, instead of their fists, to hurt each other. Unable to handle the hate, Mary runs out mid-battle and regrets going outside of her comfort zone. Then next day, Snyder shares a sexually inappropriate story as he applies more pressure for Mary to increase her leads and earn more "peppers". This combined with her extreme loneliness, Mary decides to return to the club and square off against Sandra with the intent to finally bring her down. Thinking this will be an easy kill, Sandra accepts the challenge and quickly begins to verbally chop Mary down word by word. Thinking she's won, Sandra gloats to the room of energized, borderline enraged, women, but Mary's saved the best for last.
