The Conners has been leaning into a lot of sitcom cliches this season, which is not always a bad thing, the classics are the classics for a reason, but some of the bits do not connect anymore. The whole Kai thing was kind of a bust, if you want to do a lazy hippie like that you need a little bit stronger writing.
I like the gag about wanting to protect the couch and trying to blame it on a child though. I think we all have had items like that we are overly protective of, sometimes without logic, so it had an aura of truth to it.
This show has been okay this season but sort of feels like it is unnecessary in 2022.
