The Last Weekend was made for the South Texas Underground Film Festival's 48 Hour Film Race.
The film was written, shot and edited in 2 days.
Part of the rules of the film race was filmmakers had to pick a card from the Mexican Loteria Card Game and include it in the film. The filmmakers picked the "Chalupa" or small boat.
This film establishes the characters Jenn, Erik and Liz. They would later turn up in Director Christopher Ambriz's later film The Night Before (2014).
The film was shot in very hot 100 degree weather.
