In Mumbai, India, a mother struggles to deal with both hers and her son's illnesses. Repeated damage to his brain, caused by seizures, results in him losing his grip on reality and the by-product of excessive smoking causes her incapacity to work efficiently. As she delves deeper into poverty and her disease progresses she finds herself at a loss and feels that she must ensure he will not suffer further, after she dies. She looks for every possible option, which leads her to an extreme decision.
