I saw this movie on DVD and first it was very complicated but after watching it for the third ime I understand it now and it is brilliant. With the lovely Leandi Du Rand and old faves Marga Van Roy,Ian Roberts and Gertha Fox. Thus movie is a fantasy and the first one in Afrikaans the movie is also very serious but at times can make you giggle. Die windpomp tells the story of Hendri(Armand Greyling) and Margo(Leandi Du Rand) who falls in love in a summer romance but everything is not what it seems you are going to be shocked of the huge twist in this movie and in the end everything will make sense if you watch it at least 3 times(LoL). Give it a try or at least 3 and you will love it. Die windpomp

Strong Romance storyline

Die Windpomp gets my vote as one of the best films ever made in South Africa. One of the best Afrikaans movie I ever watched. The film kept me on my toes and enjoyed every part of the movie.

A great movie to watch with family and friends with same popcorns and drinks to enjoy the love storyline.

It's a film you can escape into and surrender to wholeheartedly, the movie will change the way you see life, and hopefully rejuvenate lost loves and disastrous love affairs.

If you are romance movie type of a person than you will enjoy this movie and regret thing as this move has all the elements of a romance storyline movie.

"Die Windpomp: A Heartwarming and Quirky Fantasy Love Story About the Joys of Growing Old"
impactacademy10 January 2024
"Die Windpomp" is a 2014 South African romantic comedy film directed by Etienne Fourie. The movie tells the story of Hendri, a 20-year-old boy who arrives on the doorstep of his senile, reclusive grandfather in a retirement village. His world is soon infested by garden ornaments, bingo nights, and odd "old ballie" behavior. While sneaking a late-night cigarette, Hendri follows five silhouetted figures into the forest on the outskirts of the small town and finds more than he expected.

The movie is a heartwarming and quirky fantasy love story that celebrates the joys of growing old. The pace of the movie is slow, but it gives the plot and the audience enough time to fully realize the implications of the eventual revelations. The cinematography is stunning, and the performances by the cast are exceptional. Leandie du Randt delivers a nuanced and complex performance that captures the character's inner turmoil and transformation.

Overall, "Die Windpomp" is a must-see film that will leave you moved and inspired. It is a masterpiece that deserves to be seen and appreciated by all.
