I'm in prison
nogodnomasters1 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Cheyenne Clark (Krys Marshall) is out walking and a strange man comes up from behind her. Don't get too attached to Cheyenne. We then move to Bri Collins (Novi Brown) the ex-wife of Michael Miller, both convicted of scamming millions in a pump and dump scheme. Michael is in jail, Bri is under house arrest at their vacation home where she is shunned by the neighbors. Someone is watching Bri in her home. She eventually hires Xavier Johnson (Terrell Carter) a stud body guard. She suspects her ex-husband has something to do with this. The stalkings and threats escalate.

This film is Lifetime quality if that is what you like. We don't get to find out who and why until the end as the clues are few and unspecific.

Guide: no swearing, sex, or nudity.

Luxury House Arrest
dmgil-4736330 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm supposed to believe this woman with thick cottage cheese thighs that rub together was a cross country runner in college? Maybe if she was now 50 yrs old, but she's still young & should have some remnants of her athletic physique. Making her wear jogging suits through most of the movie doesn't fix it. The romance is forced & awkward, the suspense borders on boring, the horror is more drama than anything else, the smart house that's supposed to be so bad to be stuck in is so luxurious & modern with a lakeside view it's hard to think of it as anything but paradise, except for the killer stalking her.

Tubi
BandSAboutMovies21 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
No, not the sadly underrated slasher.

Not the bad video game movie.

This Tubi original is the tale of Bri Collins (Novi Brown), a recently divorced woman who is under house arrest for a year thanks to her ex-husband Michael's (Christopher Bencomo) crimes. Instead of just getting to hide out and do her time, a stalker who can control her home - this is why I don't let Alexa control mine - starts trying to kill her.

If you're expecting this to be a slasher, it's more of a Lifetime-style woman in danger movie. I mean, that's fine, but I'd hate if you showed up expecting anything else.

Directed by Brant Daugherty, who co-wrote this with his wife Kimberly (who also is in the movie as best friend Sofia), Bri finally gets sick and tired of getting attacked in a home she can't leave, so she hires Xavier Johnson (Terrell Carter), a dark and mysterious security guard who is also searching for his missing sister. Do they fall for one another? Do I even need to ask?

Look, I realize these Tubi movies aren't great, but they're something I look forward to. This is pretty much by the numbers, but sometimes that's all you need.

Predictable and just okay
plasssaskia13 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So this movie was pretty mediocre but I just wanted to watch and the actress was pretty lol. However the acting was not that good. My question towards the whole movie is if they had a scheme that robb people how were they still able to maintain their life styles or even stay in their homes? Shouldn't they be broke trying to pay that back? Fraud and law is not my area but still thought that did not make sense. The movie was also a little predictable especially when the one cup showed up and did nothing. Also that parole officer or whoever she was.. did way to.much. One part of the movie i did not undestand was after they were attacked the ambulance came. They totally forgot about sofia in the home you're telling me the police did not do a sweep?.okay.

Poor thriller!
cynet-5233216 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok this movie has the right direction but it's so daft it leaves credibility of belief completely out of the lake. House arrest detainee who seems to get a more lengthy sentence than her ex husband who commited the fraud so you work it out?

Anyway lonely house arrest hires a private security guard who lost his ex girlfriend through supicious circumstances which should be a worry considering if he couldn't keep her safe what chance does the client have with his services.

Overall without giving to much more away the film is borderline dumb which makes it a poor thriller IMHO.

To many plot holes you could hit a stick with and expect to be very disappointed with the character direction.

Another decent Tubi thriller
mjanssens269 October 2022
This is another Tubi original thriller. A woman is placed on house arrest for financial crimes that her ex-husband has committed. The woman is staying alone in her large house while her ex is in jail doing his own time. She suspects she's being stalked by someone so her and her best friend contact police.

The police aren't interested in helping without a provable crime being committed so she hires a male personal security guard. She then learns about another woman in the area who has vanished. The woman on house arrest then learns her ex is being released and she's left to investigate whether it's her ex or a bunch of other possible suspects who are trying to harm her. Good actors, but the film would be better if it had a faster pace. Decent enough.

The Pariah of Sandpoint Lake
lavatch8 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Bri Collins is the quintessence of a dynamic and strong-willed "Lifetime" woman who got a raw deal when her shady and manipulative ex-husband Michael framed her as a co-conspirator in his "pump and dump scheme" that defrauded honest citizens of millions. Having taken a plea deal under the advice of her attorney, Bri now finds herself under house arrest for a year in the couple's beautiful lake home at Sandpoint.

While in virtual incarceration in her home, Bri is stalked and harassed. She suspects that the perp may be her loutish ex. She then hires a personal body guard named Xavier Johnson. There is almost instant chemistry between the couple, and some of the best scenes involved their burgeoning romantic connection.

There was a high tech element to the film with gadgetry, home security devices, and a multi-purpose ankle monitor. The character named Dex is a tech specialist and former military comrade of Xavier, who becomes a sparkplug, adding energy to the film. But one scene that seemed a stretch was when Bri and Xavier invaded Michael's house in order to find evidence related to his shenanigans. The problem was that he was inside the home with his mistress Mackenzie at the time of the break-in. The cat-and-mouse game featured Bri and Xavier racing from room to room, turning the sequence into the style of French farce.

It was also unconvincing that Bri would suddenly dismiss Xavier when informed that he was a suspect in the death of his sister Cheyenne. Bri surely recognized that Xavier's efforts were sincere in tracking down Cheyenne's killer and the information she was receiving was a bald-faced lie. Perhaps the filmmakers wanted to give the romantic relationship a rest. Bri was the film's intended protagonist, yet the actor playing Xavier, who has the presence of a giant redwood tree, was stealing every one of their scenes.

There were a couple of good twists and revelations coming at the end. The performances were spot on. And the film was crisply directed with interesting settings as the characters scurried about from room to room. Slowly but surely, the pariah of Sandpoint Lake redeemed herself with the help of a gentle giant and the wonders of modern technology.
