- Rosen and his team travel to a remote village of Alphas to ask Skylar Adams to look into the function of the photo stimulator. But Parish has people in the village, and soon the lives of both Skylar and her daughter, Zoe, are in jeopardy.
- Open with Rosen and Harken looking at the machine and comparing it to experiments run by the Department of Defense decades earlier. The device enhanced the kid in the hospital's alpha ability and Parish made a point to get it fast-tracked through the FDA. The plan is to take the device to Skyler Adams.
We see Rachel on a date with Bennett. It seems awkward.
Rosen wants the entire team to join him on the trip to visit Skyler. This includes Nina and some members of the team are uncertain about her. Immediately after Hicks hangs up with Dani she sends someone a text informing them the team is on its way.
The team drives to a remote area. They are stopped by two alphas who want them to turn around. Skyler shows up, but she isn't interested in having visitors. She allows them to stay only after Rosen reminds her the risk he took on her behalf with the NSA.
Skyler is living on what seems to be a colony for displaced alphas.
Skyler looks at the device but doesn't find anything unusual. Skyler's daughter is a alpha with a gift for math and numbers and she's a handful for her mother. Rosen does well with Zoe.
Gary and Harken run into Claude, who is the founder of the alpha colony. Gary has been frustrated by the lack of electromagnetic signals, but Claude points out the number of naturally-found signals.
Skyler and Rose discuss raising an alpha child. Claude isn't happy to see Rosen, seemingly very aware of who he is.
Gary and Harken stare into the sky. Gary is fascinated by a star. He's seeing what looks like a aurora borealis. While the two look up a man stands behind them with a switchblade.
The man with the knife is one of several alphas watching the colony. They appear to be there on Parish's behalf, trying to get the device.
Skyler talks to Nina about trying to a responsible mother. She says she's only at the colony for Zoe. Nina tells her about the team not being sure about her return.
Claude tells Rosen why he doesn't care for him. He doesn't think Rosen should have spoken on their behalf.
On his way back from dinner one of the colony alphas jumps Rosen. He has powers related to electricity and he does something to the device with his hand. People come to the rescue and Claude tells the team he wants them to leave the following day.
The next morning Rachel works on the device with Skyler. They find a tiny circuit board embedded on some of the wires. Skyler wants more time to look at it, but Rosen says they need to leave. Zoe overhears Skyler say that things were "so much easier when I was alone" and runs away. The device begins to malfunction and zaps Rachel in the face. She falls to the ground.
Gary tells Skyler he wants to stay at the colony.
Harken carries Rachel to the car as the team prepares to leave.
While looking for Zoe in the woods Skyler runs into Parish's henchmen, one of whom is Scipio. They have Zoe and want the device back.
The team is in the van waiting for Rosen so they can leave. Gary doesn't want to come with them and runs off.
Rosen returns to Skyler's cabin and finds the machine gone and one of Zoe's toys sitting on the table.
Skyler confronts Scipio in a barn. Rosen arrives and uses the device to knock Scipio to the ground, allowing them to escape.
Rachel's alphas powers have been increased by the device and she's able to hear Zoe's cries.
Hicks and Harken enter the building where Zoe is being held.
We see Scipio wake up. His powers have also been increased and flames are literally dripping from his hands. He sets the barn on fire as he walks out.
Hicks finds Zoe with one of Parish's alphas. The two fight, with the woman getting the better of him, eventually cutting him on the leg with a saw. Harken comes in and saves the day. Skyler arrives and they tell her Zoe is in the basement. They find her safe and sound, but by this point Scipio arrives and sets the stairwell on fire. They look doomed, but Skyler uses her alpha power to conceptualize a way to make a fire extinguisher out of materials in the basement.
By this point most of the colony is on fire.
Skyler builds the extinguisher with help from Zoe and they are able to get themselves out of the basement. The team leaves the colony.
Parrish runs into Skyler and Zoe at a restaurant. He apologizes for the behavior of his men and offers her a chance to help him "make the world a better place."
Back at home Bennett comforts Rachel with an origami bird. She says "you get me" and the two begin to kiss.
Dani apologizes to Hicks for what happened to him and it looks as if she feels guilty.
Harken and Rose wonder how Parish knew they were going to be at Skyler's. He wants to keep the investigation hush-hush. The camera focuses on Dani as the episode ends.
