The Tournament Job

Warning: Spoilers
This was a pretty well-done episode. We could have used a better fight scene, and it also seemed thrown together a bit what exactly the bad guy was doing, but they took a growing in popularity (somehow) field of e-sports and made an exciting con job out of it.

Leverage: Redemption got back on track here. From the immediate text from Hardison to Elliot about whether gaming was a sport or not, to Parker's insane Schwarzenegger impression, they had the comedy down, along with a really solid storyline.

It is such a shame that this is on Freevee and not Amazon Prime and that very few will end up seeing it.

Not the best of the season

Faithful to the show but some plot points are trite and not as fun as normal.

The concept of Hardison always watching is funny yet creepy but some of the other "Harrdson is here" touches are too much. I enjoyed the mirroring of the fight scenes but it didn't seem to match the type of video game? Also, the villain is definitely a villain but how/why would a physical athlete who has not background in gaming be able to form a team of that caliber?

Overall I love the show just not the best episode of the season - I'm glad that they get more of Brianna being involved, Parker's quirkiness and Eliot being a good guy.

Welcome to 2023

Leverage has really changed with the Redemption series. What used to be a really good show is now full of outlandish plots and liberal agendas (seems to be a trend with a lot of TV and movies nowadays).

This episode is particularly bad because it is over the top and completely un-relatable... the plot centers around video games, glorifying those who "practice" in their basement for 8 hours a day. According to these writers, video games are just like sports, except BETTER. "It's mentally demanding and even physically challenging." And shame on the parents who want their kids to grow up and learn to support themselves and others. When one character explains why he started playing video games, Elliot says he joined the military for the SAME REASON. What a disgraceful and offensive comparison... I am not even 30 yet and have MAJOR concerns for the ideas being taught to the next generation. In 10 years, men and women will be replaced by CHILDREN.
