As the overlord transfers to ninjago, the ninja on the island of darkness find a way out, they return to ninjago, only to find great darkness has fallen over the land, in the middle of ninjago city a giant fortress,garmatron, atop it the overlord has morphed into his original dragon form,Lloyd uses his newfound golden power, and he overwhelmed the overlord, and ninjago returns to its bright former self, even garmadon emerges with every ounce of evil removed from his body, the ninja have brought the balance back to ninjago.
