I watched this movie on Amazon prime in 2021. And it started off slow but it picked up the pace. I expected after Alex's redemption the movie will be over but NOO! There was a pleasant turn of events and purpose to the film. I enjoyed so much. God is great, his mercies endures forever, He shows compassion to us while we are yet sinners, then He tells us go and do the same to others. This movie also reminds us to be courteous to strangers we maybe entertaining Angels without knowing. God bless you reader.

Doomed by a weak heart

The city of Santa Barbara provides some beautiful vistas for the background Redemption Of The Heart. This Christian film is about a man who apparently was doomed by a weak heart to live a short life. But by being saved he made it count.
There's no one in this cast you've ever heard of. Lead Crister DeLeon is the fellow with the weak heart and he came from a Hispanic evangelical family but he's fallen away from the church and he's got some heavy duty financial obligations to some bad people and a relationship with a gold digging woman. When he goes bust she goes south.
But with his knowledge of the evangelical scene he might be useful in a scam about raising money for a church mission. So he and some buddies put the scheme in motion and it also went bust. DeLeon gets caught, but he also gets saved and winds up marrying church girl Melissa Dixon. After that it's his redemption that we're talking about and even though DeLeon is doomed by a weak heart it is shown that God uses his life in mysterious ways.
I have two problems with this. The first is churches like everyone else don't like being taken and I doubt very much they would entertain this special kind of work release arranged. Secondly there may be a directing hand guiding us in certain paths, but have it coupled with a lot of theology that most of us know from our daily lives just isn't true renders this film quite useless to anything other than church audiences.
There's a climax that goes into the supernatural. But as a whole Redemption Of The Heart is way too much to swallow.

When I began watching this film I thought it was not going to be the type of movie that holds my interest. I always find myself doing other things while watching a movie because I get bored easily, however this movie had me so intrigued I found myself getting so wrapped up in the story and the characters. I haven't cried from happiness and sadness as many times as I did watching this film. My husband and my five year old daughter both watched this film with me and I couldn't believe when I noticed my husband tearing up during different scenes. The story is so well written and I feel like this is the type of movie that people of all types can relate to. I can't wait to see what these writers come up with next!

This film surprised me for many reasons. One of them would be the fact that it had such a low budget and did not seem like it. Also there are many twist and turns that I did not seem coming at all. The other thing that I did not expect at was that the Actors did a great job for being no names. I really like the idea of faith based films not being over preachy or showing it raining starburst from the sky once the characters find the Lord. This film does a good job of showing that God is always there but just because you have him in your life your problems don't just go away. Santa Barbara is a great location from a film with the Ocean and mountains all in the same frame. I hope Hollywood will start to produce more films in the city of Santa Barbara. What a beautiful city with so much charm and character! I highly recommend this film for the entire family. I believe you will be surprised just as I was
Pleasantly Surprised

I knew this movie was done on an extremely low budget with actors that I had never heard of and I am sure some with very little to no acting experience. So when I went to watch the movie I prepared to have to get "through" the movie. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with the movie. I thought there were a few parts that were slow or could have been better. (I don't think I have seen a movie where that isn't true). Overall I felt the movie was great. I felt emotionally tied to Alex and telling him not to do those things. I felt that the actors did a good job and the narrative was very well done. I do really like how the move shows Gods redemptive love and still shows that we live in a world that isn't easy. I would recommend this movie. Well done!
Good Christian Movie - Worth Watching

This movie is similar in part to the Redemption that Nicki Cruz had - here a man sets out with his friend to pretend to be a Christian and scam churches, and we see the evil side of people, laughing and ridiculing God and God's people. Then suddenly they have a heart attack, and then they are arrested. There sins are forgiven by the Christians they robbed, and one of them repents, and pays gradually all the money back that he scammed. With his life back in order he has had another heart attack and dies in Christ and is redeemed. His accomplice in the scam turns his life round and serves in the ministry. Hebrews 13:2 Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
I couldn't stop crying

I watched this movie in 2015 and I don't remember it touching my heart as much as it did in 2023 when I re-watched it. I think when you see the goodness of God you can see how any one of us can see ourselves in this story. I have to admit I ugly cried at the end because of the twist of events. It makes you look around at your own life.
Alex is just on a path that is taking him nowhere. It seems hopeless. I'm sure we've all felt hopeless at times, at our own wits end. God shows up in unexpected ways and we don't feel worthy, because we're not. But the goodness of God comes through in this movie. It will leave you happy one minute and well, you'll have to watch the movie. If you ever question God by saying why, then watch this movie to find out.
