Awesome Introspective Indie Film
email-suekim22 January 2014
This film is beautiful in its exploration of a complicated intimacy struggle. Subtle realities play out that speak personally to anyone who has gone through the tug and pull of a relationship that desperately lacks emotional stability. The characters themselves are easy to relate to and there is no obvious "bad guy," but rather, people being people. This is an intellectual perspective on how the subtleties of human relationships can make profound impacts in one's life. The script is thoughtful and haunting, with the main character's emotional vulnerability displayed vividly and aggressively through creative and memorable scenes. This film is bound to get you thinking about your own life, choices, and consequences.

Good film about emotional turmoil during a breakup

Warning: Spoilers
Anyone who has struggled with a back and forth type relationship can empathize with the character. Any woman who has gone through a difficult break up will be able to relate to this independent film, Girlfriend 19. It is emotional because it clearly shows how our thoughts can become our worst enemies when obsessing over an ex and holding on to what used to be. You can get inside the characters mind and feel the struggle she has between her feelings of giving up, having hope or trying to push forward towards a new path. I would recommend this movie because it is realistic and shows how deep wounds take time to heal and can not be forgotten over night or just by being cheered up. It also shows how even one good friend can be supportive and understanding of difficult situations we go through in life. The film also captures the essence of the somber mood of the character trying to make it through another day.
