ALL CATS ARE GRAY IN THE DARK

Warning: Spoilers
The original title was "Roundabout American" but for deceptive marketing the "American Pie" similarity took over. The film is not a spoof of American Pie, but more like "Risky Business". Alex (Edouard Giard) leaves France for someone he met on line, someone who has a boyfriend. While drunk, he mentions starting an upscale pizza and escort service. Ron (Patrick Zielinski) an unkempt individual who knows Chicago and people helps Alex turn his musing into a lucrative business.

The concept was better than executed. Patrick Zielinski leads a group of quirky characters that made the film watchable.

Okay for a comedy rental that borders on a teen sex comedy.

Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Marielle de Rocca-Serra, Ashley Johnson, Kaitlin Chin, plus others)

Not about American Pies, Or whatever....

So,This has nothing to do with the 'American Pie' franchise and that is good,Haven't seen them but saw this.

This french guy is looking for love and doesn't find it at first but some hookers, pizza and a exotic notion later and he is in love with a Russian woman and 'The Way Americans consume,What they consume…wink, wink, nudge & nudge'.

This film is very funny and characters come off very real in absurd situations.

The title & art of poster worked very well to convey what anybody looking for something different, and script had plot points it didn't waste.

Odd mix of medium and low budget

What an odd film. Very watchable. Has a few very good moments, mostly average moments, and some terrible filmed by a grade schooler moments. Such an uneven production. Acting, writing, directing, production, cinematography all range from terrible to brilliant. The ending is stellar, and helps pull the rest up out of the dumpster. There are also a few nice moments throughout, mostly involving the russian woman. The attorney brother is a very curious and unique character who ends up being meaningful to the film and post credit shot, just when you thought he was a simple slapstick entry to the film. Feels like he was pulled straight from the Seinfeld world (not because of his similar appearance to Numan, but because of his character...more like Kramer).

I don't want to oversell this film. I cant call it good. But there is definitely a good movie hiding here, that under a better director might have been great. And I dont want to undersell the director either...they had their moments of brilliance.

As I mentioned, the full circle ending was brilliant and well filmed.
