Kylie (a splendidly scrappy performance by Elitsa Bako) hides out in a sleazy hotel. She keeps herself afloat by working the streets and picking the pockets of anyone luckless enough to cross her path. Moreover, Kylie befriends prostitute Bridgette (a solid and sympathetic portrayal by Lea Lawrynowicz) and has an epiphany. Writer/director Jonathan Robbins once more impresses with his no-nonsense and unsentimental attitude towards the gritty material. Robbins warrants extra praise for the frank and nonjudgmental way he presents Kylie and what she does for a living. Bako continues to be a revelation as the fiercely street smart and resourceful Kylie; she conveys a hard and jaded seen-and-done-it-all personality that's both compelling and convincing in equal measure. Sarah Strong contributes an amusing turn as Kylie's ditsy old college chum Danielle and Matthew Carvery makes a brief, but memorably creepy appearance as Kylie's no-count low-life boyfriend Matt. A very cool and engrossing show.
