So bad it actually gets great!
alexanderliljefors26 December 2023
Not that bad. Better then i expected! Genuinely funny! Nice storytelling and with a nice style!

Not as bad as the rating says.

Filming is very good.

Creative and innovative nicly made and well put together. Great choice of actors, even if they arent thah good, the collective of actors makes it great. Johan Glans great as always.

So bad it actually gets great!

It's actually pretty well directed.

It really succeeds with its purpose of being funny. The rest isn't that good. But it isnt really necessary, to being able to be a funny and average film. Its totally watchable for the family or simply if you want to watch something fun and easy. I actually, believe it or not, recommend it. Watch it for yourself, for nothing more but a great laugh.

Like the movie Göta kanal but on wheels
fredrik-8164428 March 2024
David Hellenius is behind the script and plays the main role himself together with all kinds of established actors. Unfortunately, it won't be particularly fun or exciting either. Anyone who has seen the films about Göta Kanal will recognize the humor, predictable jokes lined up together with funny characters.

However, there are well-made drone scenes of cars racing along the roads, nice crashes and well-made stunt scenes.

If you want to kill time and turn off your brain, it fits well, but if you want to challenge your intellect, you should definitely not watch this one. The film is definitely aimed at the younger audience.

Worst rip-off ever...
tellbom12 March 2024
This is probably the most horrible rip-off in the history of mankind. And to ad insult to injury, it's a rip-off of not one, but two movies in one go.

The original movies, Børning 1 & 2, may not be masterpieces, but they do catch the feel and the essence of the old Hal Needham movies, and I do like them a lot.

This, however, is sad enough to make a grown man cry, and I urge you to spare yourselves.

Malin Åkerman. You played Laurie Jupiter in 'The Watchmen', and damn if you didn't make me proud to be from Sweden when I saw your performance in that movie. You have acted together with Forest Whitaker and Bruce Willis in 'Catch 44' and done a wonderful job doing so. How in the world did you en up in this travesty?

The rest of the Swedish cast may or may not have had much of a choice, but you should have stayed the hell away from this.

Bottom line? Stay away from this. Watch Børning 1&2 instead.

falls in the gap between good and so bad it's good
info-985989 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
First some good things. Johan Glans was great as always, and some other actors did a stellar job. I did actually laugh sometimes, especially the combination of TT (Jonas Karlsson) and Steffe (Ola Forssmed) was great. The film work on some of the Car scenes was great.

Now some bad stuff. While filmed well, there actually only a few interesting overtaking maneuvers, most were dull and pretty much all the same. The first few times were ok, but when the twentieth time flicked by on the screen I really wasn't interested anymore. I think filmmakers need to remember that it is ok to make a 80 minute movie.

The plot. Some plot points were just completely ignored. Charlie making out with "the Porsche girl" (has no name) was a good idea, but then eliminating her in the race 5 minutes later? Why? That just killed the whole Charlie story line and it felt like they just forgot about it. They had too many characters and it felt like they didn't know how they should use them to fill the gap created by a weak main story line. The Tesla was funny at first, it was clear from the beginning that they would play into the "runs out of power" idea, which is fine, but then the driver got eliminated because he didn't notice the police coming, unnecessary. Charlie getting eliminated for no good reason, just why? Why not make it more interesting then that by letting him finish and give him a last scene with Hanna where he realizes that he is stupid? And the police? Why just have her car explode? There was so much more potential there.

The drone work. Some shots were nice, but by the end it felt like they thought that they had already booked a drone operator, so they might as well use them, even though there was no good reason to do so.

The map. Nice to show where everyone is, but it was pretty much always the same.

I can and do enjoy movies with weak plot lines, especially if they are visually pleasing, include good action or are funny, but this funny was rarely funny, which is not enough.

The cast must be ashamed for being in this one.
tangfors6 April 2024
These are actually some of Sweden's best comedians, as well as a couple of Sweden's best acters. The only exception is David Hellenius, who unfortunately has the lead role but has never been either a good actor, script writer or a good comedian, ( David must be Sweden's most overrated person he feels like that kid who really doesn't fit in the football team but whose father sponsors the whole team therefore he gets to be in and also gets the most playing time ) . But everything really just can't be blamed on David Hellenius' poor acting, even if it clearly drags the film down even more. The dialogue in the film does not feel natural, the jokes are not funny, the adventure/action scenes are not exciting, there is 0 racing feeling or sense of speed, there is no structure that makes it exciting or makes you feel annything with any of the characters. A really bad movie, don't let the cast fool you. That it has 5.3 here is a wonder.

Is this supposed to be a kids movie?
brorsant2 April 2024
40 minutes in and I haven't even smiled yet.

Is this supposed to be a movie for kids or what's the deal here?

Starring some of the biggest names in Sweden, including hollywood actress Malin Åkerman, you would expect much more.

The acting is bad from basically everyone and there's not a single edgy joke in it.

That's why I genuinely wonder if this is supposed to be a movie for kids aged 6-12.

How can you gather so many big names and then put this crap out?

Someone wrote "so bad it actually gets great!" NO! It's not one of those movies.

This is just bad and nothing else.

I think i read that there will be a sequel.

Hopefully that one might be one of those at least.

Remake. The Norwegian original is better
PerFromSweden10 March 2024
A remake of the Norwegian 2014 movie Børning with what is supposed to be the Swedish comedian elite. The script is a mix put together from Børning and the sequels Børning 2 (2016) and Børning 3 (2020) but the Norwegian original is better in all aspects.

It seems they try to make it stick with a series of funny situations but unfortunatly is the acting almost embarrassing and the dialog is even worse. However, as a total failure in all aspects it is almost amusing in all the embarrassment.

There are actually some ussually good actors in the movie but their performance here are doubtful. The most refreshich impressions are from the younger, not established actors.

The cut is traditional in all aspects.

I recoment the three norwegian films bofore this one every day of the week.

I don't get the bad reviews
jadebirke21 April 2024
I'm not sure if the bad reviews are left by people that maybe watched it with subtitles or dubbed but if you're Swedish or understand Swedish you get the humor.

It can sometimes be hard to translate humor properly as certain things just don't land/translate if you don't understand the language and Swedes can have a great and pretty bent sense of humor.

I thought this was so funny and it was refreshing to watch Malin Åkerman acting in her native Swedish.

At the end of the day if you watch it you either enjoy it or not but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am familiar with quite a few of the other actors as I live in Sweden and watch Swedish tv and movies and I hope they make a sequel 🤞🏼

A steaming pile of horse manure
Movie_Reviews19 March 2024
I am sure that worse things has been produced before. But throw in a large budget and a stellar cast and this must take some kind of prize, such as "the worst utilized movie budget ever" or "it should be impossible to fail but still they managed".

Now, I am a man that cannot stand the Swedish "buskis" genre. I despise Markoolios mother. I loath "Morran and Tobias". So, if you are like me, then just stay away from this utter rubbish.

However, should be avid followers of the above stuff, then maybe this is actually something for your demented brain to dwell upon. If you have absolutely no taste, combined with a very low IQ: Then go ahead!

Loneliness is the unfolding in which a child rears its head
mjohansson-867166 April 2024
The head is one part of this transition that has yet not been covered. I have not left this out without some kind of intention to return to it. In controlling the workings of the unfolding, a child may never rear its head around forty, while fifty, as established elsewhere (see end notes!) is far too large a number. This is where Brentano, as well as his adept Freud, enters the question of loneliness. How, you may say, does the Austrian philosophies (plural, which is itself an astrology!) attempt this moral resistance of weight and word? I can only say this to such an inquiry: the weight of the world will be whispered in due time. Ponder this as an adaption of this line of thinking. The me-child has gathered the books necessary for inception, which does include the collected works of Shakespeare. In a me-child, one would have to assume the here-now of the situation, the solidness of the flesh and mind. This, however, need not be the case. While this product does not address these solutions, I will engage the reader with these questions in the next section.

Disappointment on wheels
victorialexandra21 April 2024
I was shocked throughout the whole movie... that this is a serious production... that was allowed to be released... It's disappointing because there are several actors you actually like... but what the heck happened here really? I would have turned it off after 10 minutes if it wasn't for my son liking the cars. I then started to somewhat accept that this might be a kids' movie, until I realized how much they swore and once again was shocked that it was a serious production for adults. So bad acting, such predictable jokes... HOW did it turn out like this? It's a cinematic wreck that leaves you questioning how it ever made it past the cutting room floor.

I did not have high expectations..
andreaslundegard2 May 2024
...But unfortunately, this movie was even worse than I expected. As a Swedish person myself, I was disappointed to see such poor acting from the main characters, and all the scenes were just silly and unrealistic. Despite the presence of many iconic Swedish actors and what seemed to be a large budget, the film failed to deliver in every aspect. The only reason I watched it was to see if Johan Glans would bring some humor to the film, but unfortunately, even he couldn't save it. It felt more like a children's movie than anything else. And to top it all off, the ending was completely off. Why did it have to end that way?
