Very impressive writing and symbolism
This has to be my favorite Bluey episode of all time - its clear this episode was made more for the parents this time. The way trauma is approached and handled is absolutely spectacular here and anybody, no matter how old, can benefit from watching this episode. Everything here is handled with compassion and sensitivity. Bluey is starting to become known for how well it handles mental health which is so refreshing and modern to see.

"Space" is one of the less common episodes where the focus centers on three secondary characters (Rusty, Mackenzie and Jack). Arthur (1995) would sometimes also take this secondary character approach, and I always liked it because I find it's great for building character depth. In this episode, we watch as the three friends play outside, pretending to be on a spaceship in outer space. Through this play, MacKenzie is able to come to terms with and process an experience he went through years ago. The writing and symbolism are absolutely beautiful and this episode is worth the watch for people of all ages. 10/10.

Extremely well written

Strange how this episode isn't more highly rated, I actually don't know what kind of complaints can be had with this episode. It's writing and ability to show Mackenzie's trauma without going out of its way to state it directly throughout the first half of the episode is extremely well written. The scene of Mackenzie going through the Black Hole and the music stopping is one of the best scenes in the whole show., aswell as the scene with Mackenzie and Calypso. The ending also brings this full circle with Rusty and Jack's stories in the episode by having the girls act as aliens for Mackenzie at the end and Rusty reaching out to save him was very well written. The music is also used immaculately incorporated into the episode and enhanced every scene. Overall all these aspects make the episode a 10:10.

Poignant

Warning: Spoilers
The end of Space kind of had an eerie 2001: A Space Odyssey feel to it, and it was incredibly poignant and moving and really spoke to childhood events that can live on. I never expected that to happen, and I think Bluey really hits the home run when it deals with space, like in Sleepytime.

Meg Washington voices Calypso in a very critical moment in Space. Anyway, this is one of the few episodes not to feature Bluey, Bingo, Mom and Dad, and it's kind of like a Seinfeld episode featuring just Newman, Puddy and Uncle Leo.

All credit to the Bluey writing team for this outstanding episode that will live on.
