The interior and exterior of the "Rammer Jammer" is the same set as Merlotte's from True Blood (2008).
The restaurant to which Lavon takes Zoe (where she tries grits for the first time) is the "Rammer Jammer." This is a reference to a spectators' cheer yelled at University of Alabama football games when Alabama has just won or is clearly about to win. The cheer goes:
"Hey, (opposing team)!
Hey, (opposing team)!
Hey, (opposing team)!
We just beat the hell outta you!
Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer
Give 'em hell, Alabama!"
The term "Rammer-Jammer" came from the title of a 1920s-era student newspaper, while the Yellowhammer is the state bird of Alabama.
Second and final appearance of Nancy Travis. She left the show to take the role of Vanessa Baxter on Last Man Standing (2011), which aired 8 days later and as of 2020 has had 8 seasons.
The #22 jersey that Dr Hart wears during the parade is Mark Ingram Jr's number. Mark Ingram Jr was Alabama's first Heisman trophy winner in Alabama football history. He won it the year before this show started.
The house used as Wade Kinsella's home would later be used in the 'Supergirl' episode 'Truth, Justice and the American Way', when the character of Alex Danvers is searching for the hideout of the Master Jailer, an alien on the loose.
