All for the family
AvionPrince1625 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed the video game and was pretty surprised to see that our choices have some consequences in short time or later in the video games and i really enjoyed that. The story is pretty interesting and have some revelations all along ( the corrupt policeman, the problems with Holt's dad, the black book, the cheating between Vince and his wife, the Dad' s fake illness and he is not really honest). The family is the big value of the Video games whatever the character we are and solidarity and trust. Its simple but really effective. I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end and i really enjoyed the choices and the history of them in each end of the chapters. It was a big surprise. I enjoyed also the flashback who reveal the why our characters find themself there and the reasons of it and it really give depth to the characters and we can identify better with the characters better and i found it really interesting. The part 2 its still thrilling with some betrayal with Jay's family, Sharon get more interesting too and we learn more about how they get the code, we have also Zoé who have some nightmares and we see the Grand father who have some health problems. We see a small part with the son of June and really have some consequences in it and that was really well made, Jay also find a new friend and we see a beautiful love relationship between them. I got the end where Jay is in jail and get killed by the electric chair, we see also Sharon and Paul enjoying in the beach, Tyler in jail and at the end, we maybe have a revelation from the grandfather but he get killed: so it get pretty dramatic and maybe, after his words, he is the reason behind all this. Good surprise and i really recommend the video game to everyone who like story and choices to make and feel like a movie. I recommend the video games for sure and the end make us wonder that maybe they will have a next episode of that video game? I will love to anyway.

Must Play!

"As Dusk Falls" is a moving and emotional masterpiece. The voice acting ranges from solid to excellent and is always believable, and the story is a film-quality narrative. Do your self a favor and get lost in this artfully-crafted labor of love.

Great story and style
8512227 October 2022
Greetings from Lithuania.

"As Dusk Falls" surprised me because of great story and style. As much as I love games like "Life is Strange" and others in this genre, "Dusk" was unique in terms of it's non famish story and unique style. Story was very complex and you see it and replay it in many ways. Style of this game was also very unique. Voice acting was superb and i have recognize some of them especially one who played Adam Jenkins in Deus Ex games. Solid music and superb script add to the overall experience as well.

Overall, "Dusk" is a very good game because of it's story and great storytelling. This was not a typical game story, but more rather a mature thriller. Great and unique game on many ways, i really recommend it.

In love an obsessed with this

This game is a fantastic experience to fall in love with if you appreciate storytelling above all. Personally love the art style with a passion, but I get some may not be a fan of it out of the gate, still, give it a chance and you will start to appreciate it and enjoy it - or at the very least not feel like it is a detriment to the game.

Gameplay is not the strong suit of this game, but that is to be expected in this kind of games. If you are a fan of games like firewatch, telltales the walking dead, or what remains of Edith finch, this game will definitely deliver in the story front.

Strange art, great game
AlienRefugee2 August 2022
It's a great game with brilliant writing but the art style will likely put people off. It's a little bit like the storyboard prototype of the game we could have had. It doesn't destroy the game, but I don't think it helps it =(

I Must Apologize

I Must Apologize...

I always thought these story based games where decisions are the primary way of interacting were dumb. I am sorry I am stupid, I was wrong. If you like telltale games, but wish co-op was an option, this game evolves that formula perfectly.

My positives:
  • Real choices with real consequences that lead to many different branching paths.

  • The story is thrilling. Gripping, and heartbreaking.

  • The cast of characters are amazing and loveable.

  • The plot is complicated and never what it seems.

  • THE CO-OP IS BRILLIANT! Play this with 7 friends!

  • The QTE are actually hard lol and have consequence (eh hem god of war)
  • Art direction is beautiful.

  • Love the modern western setting and feel.

Negatives
  • My only negative is a positive, there are so many arcs and branching paths it would take a long time to see everything in this game!

As Dusk Falls is a good interactive movie with a memorable artistic style
eva3si0n12 August 2022
As Dusk Falls is a good interactive movie with a memorable artistic style. Despite the fact that the whole game on the big slide of the show you stop noticing it in a couple of tens of minutes. But what As Dusk Falls will be remembered for is the impact of player choice on the plot. Despite the abundance of games of this genre, especially due to Telltale games, the choice began to be perceived as a linear story that simply develops in a slightly different way. There is a good plot, pleasant music and a logically completed ending. After passing As Dusk Falls, feelings remain that he watched an excellent mini-series. Of course, INTERIOR/NIGHT is still a young studio, but I hope that their next project will continue to develop the ideas of the genre, and As Dusk Falls itself would not be bad to port to mobile devices.

Gripping story with a weak ending
PenetratorGod22 December 2023
It was better than I expected and I would like to see more games if it becomes a series. The only negative thing I can say is about the last episode. It shows the results of our choices, but they ended the game in a hurry. You might not even realize if you've finished the game until you see the screen that takes you to the main menu. In short, the game starts well, but by the end it has lost its charm. It's likely that either a second game or a DLC will be released in the future, otherwise it doesn't make much sense for them to end the game this way. Because you can look at all similar games and they all have a story that starts and ends. As Dusk Falls has a beginning but no end. On the other hand, some of the characters we meet along the journey don't seem to be handled well enough. I would have liked to see more details about their personalities and their lives. The ending is very important for this kind of game. This part of As Dusk Falls is not very well thought out.

Fake 'choices' in not-a-game
heath-jeffrey11 October 2022
First of all, this is not a game. It's an interactive drama, a bit like those rare Netflix shows where you get to make decisions in a few places.

That said, you might think you'll love it if you know interactive stories and 'choices matter' around like your kind of thing. In most cases, you'd be wrong for two reasons:

1) It's not a TV show. It's a bunch of photos of a TV show strung together. Half way between a show and a comic book. But the result is one of those things that gets the worst of both worlds, rather than the best: there are too many 'photos' to leave anything up to the imagination like a comic book; but half the emotion and action you'd get from video is lost.

2) MOST importantly, the vast majority of CHOICES DO NOT actually MATTER, for a range of reasons. Most common is that your choice is twisted to fit the story (eg. Choose to help someone instead of ignore them, and your character trips over on the way, ultimately failing to help). Less often is that all the choices are similar (eg. Hit a cop or abuse a cop). For ones that involve exploring a scene, it's almost always that only one option actually does anything - the rest add a little dialogue but the story doesn't move on until you choose the key one. And for 'quick time' events, even if you want to purposefully fail, almost all of them just repeat and repeat and repeat until you get it right.

Some choices seem to matter, and if I'm right, they can have a huge impact on the story. But they're so few and far between that the lack of impact is overriding.

There are a few positives: one character is easy to empathise with, which makes you want to follow the story. Some of the voice acting is decent. And the 'photos' have that 'pencil drawing' style effect that you can get on cellphone photo editing apps, which has a surprisingly pleasant aesthetic.

Despite this, it's boring most of the time (you're barely involved but have to have the controller in hand just in case), and frustrating other times (why bother with choices and quick time events if they do nothing!!!)
