Special agent Lauren Coleston (Mirtha Michelle) reflects on how she became an agent while being tortured by a masked man. That's pretty much all there is too it. I liked the pithiness of this episode straight and to the point. Coleston's back story was nicely fleshed out, pardon the pun, and it kept my interest throughout. It was also reasonably well-acted which can be hit or miss in this series. And I wouldn't mind in the least if the character turned up again in a future episode. (Better her than anyone from that "Girls Gone Dead" episode from Season 1.... Again

PS: Michelle definitely cold become a scream queen if she so choose

"Killer Instinct" is much better-made than most episodes of this series, but the story is a complete "Nikita" copy, which on its own would not be so bad, except that the big plot twist here becomes very obvious after a while, when you realize that there is only one male character of any importance....and there is also another man with his face hidden behind a mask....hm, I wonder what the connection might be. Trust me, you'll get the connection before it is revealed. Mirtha Michelle is not one of the prettiest leading ladies of the series, but she is certainly one of the hottest; this episode also satisfies a secret fetish of mine when Mirtha chokes another woman in a sleeper hold! **1/2 out of 4.
