Exclusive: Pierce Brosnan (Fast Charlie), Samuel L. Jackson (Argylle), and Brandon Lessard (Murder at Yellowstone City) are in Montana shooting Unholy Trinity, a Western helmed by Richard Gray (Robert the Bruce), which has secured a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement.
Described as a tale of revenge, dark secrets, and buried treasures, the film is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff, and a mysterious figure named St. Christopher (Jackson).

"Scotland is clutched in the grip of a mighty hand... Now, we'll set her free!" Screen Media Films has just released another official Us trailer for the Scottish historical action drama Robert the Bruce, made by Australian director Richard Gray. Robert the Bruce is a hard-hitting historical epic covering the turbulent time after William Wallace's victories depicted in Braveheart. This originally premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival last year - which is when we featured the first UK trailer. Angus Macfadyen stars (playing the same role he played in Braveheart), joined by a big cast with Jared Harris, Zach McGowan, Daniel Portman, Emma Kenney, Melora Walters, Anna Hutchison, Talitha Eliana Bateman, Patrick Fugit, Gabriel Bateman, and Kevin McNally. The film also features original music from Scottish national treasure Lulu. This looks like it might be good, or might very boring, and they're definitely playing off of "Game of Thrones" being over.

The real question in Mine Games is do we actually care The answer is sadly no. The movie tries too hard to gain and hold our interest unfortunately it very much fails to do so. For the most part it is flatly directed by Richard Gray. Its rather boring uneventful and takes a very long time for anything even halfway interesting to happen.

A group of friends travel up to a cabin located deep within the forest. Shortly after arriving, they stumble across an abandoned mine and decide to explore the dark and mysterious tunnels. As the group hikes deeper within the mine, they make a shocking discovery that quickly turns their excitement into fear. Hunted by a mysterious force, the group must work together to escape the mine alive.
Mine Games, apart from having a hilarious pun for the title, is a right old mixed bag. Together with the standard horror clichés that we have all come to know and love, the story overall is a hidden gem which left me both surprised and satisfied. ‘Surprisified’ you might say.

Cast: Briana Evigan, Rebecca Da Costa, Julianna Guill, Rafi Gavron and Joseph Cross. Mine Games aka The Evil Within is a horror film from Australian director Richard Gray. The film is more of a mind game, than anything else as the film's central plot plays with a few different ideas. Are the six friends in the film experiencing a supernatural entity, or a nightmare, or a psychotic break? The script does not lead the viewer down any specific path. Instead, Mine Games tries to unsettle the watcher, by playing with time. The past, present and future all come onto the screen, sometimes all at the same time. Overall, Mine Games is a well written indie horror fun, which is...

Mine Games. A psychological thrillers in which a mine is the catalyst for the strange events that plague a group of ridiculously good looking 20-somethings who are on vacation in the Washington Bend.
Get it? Mine Games?! Like "mind games."
Yeah, the movie is about as ridiculous as the title. Michael and a group of other characters who are realistically not even important enough to name are staying at a cabin in the woods when they stumble across an abandoned mine. Things start to get weird, like seeing your own dead body weird, and spiral farther and farther out of control.

Richard Gray is to write and direct a remake of Audition, for producer Mario Kassar...
News
Cinema has few experiences like watching Audition without knowing what's coming. Personally, I used to import region 3 DVDs back when it was incredibly economical to do so, and popped Audition into my DVD player with no idea what was around the corner. A stiff drink was required by the end of it.
Audition was put together by Takashi Miike, but it's now been revealed that one time Carolco supremo Mario Kassar - who produced the likes of Rambo III, Basic Instinct and Terminator 2 - is putting together an English language remake of the film.
Richard Gray has got the job of directing the new movie, having adapted the screenplay himself. Gray's credits to date include Blinder and Mine Games.
At this stage, it's traditional in a news story to describe the film itself a little.

This, by itself, is not news: another Japanese horror film is getting an English-language remake. Add in one crucial detail, however, and watch the newsiness bubble to life before your very eyes: the 1999 Japanese horror film Audition is getting an English-language remake. Unaware of what Audition is? It’s a simple story. A lonely man has spent too long doing the single dad thing and realizes that he needs a little love in his life to be truly complete. So he, his son and a buddy from the movie industry put together a mock audition where young women come to try out for “a role.” Unwittingly, they’re really auditioning to be the object of Mr. Lonely Dad’s affection. They end up with the perfect candidate for a girlfriend, but — surprise! — she’s nuts. Cue the kind of sick, godless horror depravity that disgusts people yet also makes them desperate to watch Audition. According...

Japanese horror Audition will receive an English-language remake.
Mario Kassar, who previously executive produced Terminator and Basic Instinct, is involved in the American project based on the 1999 film, reports Deadline.
Based on Ryu Murakami's novel of the same name, Audition follows a widower named Shigeharu Aoyama who puts out a fake casting call for a new wife.
Shigeharu is enchanted by one of the auditioning girls, who isn't what she appears to be.
The remake will be directed by Australian director Richard Gray, who previously worked on Mine Games, and is said to follow the novel but will take place in an American setting.
The original Audition, which starred Ryo Ishibashi and Eihi Shiina and was directed by Takashi Miike, is considered a cult classic.

During Bethesda’s pre-E3 media day for The Evil Within, Daily Dead also had the opportunity to preview a brand new multiplayer game, BattleCry, which will be Bethesda’s first time entering the free-to-play space. The game is also being developed by BattleCry Studios.
BattleCry is a 32-player, team action combat game set in an alternate version of the early 20th century, where a technologically advanced world war is taking place. A treaty has been signed, banning the use of black powder during warfare; this small fact is a major theme in BattleCry as this eliminates the use of traditional guns. Instead, your weaponry includes sophisticated melee weapons, dependent on which class of character a player chooses. While the game is using groups from actual history, their weaponry and environment is well beyond realism. The game comes from Art Director, Victor Antinov of Half-Life 2 fame.

Since The Evil Within was announced back in April of 2013, survival horror fans have been waiting to get their hands on the latest project of Shinji Mikami. Mikami, creator of the Resident Evil franchise is often credited with creating the game play mechanics most players associate with the survival horror genre. The Evil Within is the first game to be developed by Mikami’s own Tango Gameworks and is being published by Bethesda Softworks.
A couple of weeks ago, Daily Dead was invited by Bethesda to come check out their Pre-E3 event for The Evil Within in Santa Monica, California. While there, I had the chance to get some hands-on time with the two separate demos they had set-up for The Evil Within.
Bethesda’s Pete Hines was there to greet us, explain a few things and then send us on our way. I walked into the room with about 30 computers set up.

Yeah survival horror's return is making me excited, and yes we now have to wait even longer for it to happen.
The Evil Within is what could be the return to true survival horror for Aaa titles. Facing facts, the genre has somewhat slid off a cliff lately, with the only life left being in indie developers studios. The game was originally going to come out in August, but now has a more proper date of October 21st. Just before Halloween.
This news makes me happy, yet sad. In one regard, we seriously need some new games! I know, I know, new consoles means a droubt of titles as developers rush to get something out the door. Yet I'm seriously begging for something to come along and steal my money! Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein is only going to last so long.... Anything, anything at all will most likely sell at this point!

While Shinji Mikami’s long-awaited return to the survival horror genre was initially pegged for late August, Bethesda has confirmed plans to delay The Evil Within until October 21st and 24th in North America and Europe, respectively.
In light of the announcement, the studio has since cited balancing issues and overall refinement in its official statement.
“Shinji Mikami and his team at Tango Gameworks have asked for additional time to further balance and refine the game in order to deliver the polished, terrifying pure survival horror experience they set out to create.”
Elsewhere, Bethesda also outlined an all-new pre-order incentive for the game under the moniker of The Fighting Chance Pack. The added content in question will open up a range of in-game bonuses for players, including a double barrel shotgun, medical kit and even a splash of green gel that can be used to boost the protagonist’s abilities.

The Order 1886
Ready At Dawn has announced that the PS4-exclusive "The Order 1886" has been pushed back until early 2015, and at the same time delivered a new featurette about the inspirations for the Victorian London-set action game.
The announcement follows a controversial week for the game which decided to show off actual gameplay from the new title via Twitch. The resulting compressed quality and frame rate drops from that streaming service quickly lead to claims the game has been "downgraded" (ala "Watch Dogs").
Watch Dogs
Reviews are finally out for the "Watch Dogs" game and the reaction is quite good, but not great with a lot of 8/10 scores cropping up. On Metacritic, the game's score varies between 82/100 and 77/100 depending upon the platform.
That puts it behind "Dark Souls II" (91), "Mario Kart 8" (89), "Titanfall" (86), "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition" (86), "Transistor" (84) and "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze" (83). It's around on par though with some...

The evil within wants out in this indie “cabin in the woods + teenagers camping = body count” horror thriller from Phase 4 films (available May 6th On Demand and on DVD May 27th).
Briana Evigan, a genre fave, plays Lyla, "the sweet, nurturing girlfriend to Michael, who has schizophrenia (and is played by the wonderful Joseph Cross). She's the calm one of the gang who definitely has her head on and thinks logically... Not that the others don't," Evigan laughs.
"But it is a thriller full of young partying adults! Someone has to be serious! She's Michael's left hand when it comes to his sickness and is always understanding."
Evigan gets lots of offer to play in these kinds of seemingly cookie-cutter horror films, so we asked her what it was about this one in particular that attracted her. "What grabbed me most was Michael's illness and playing the woman who holds him up.

Hollywood Skewers Itself in a Dark, Snarky Film About The Horrors of Filmmaking
Horror comes to Hollywood in more ways than one in Grunder Oakley Productions’ “National Born Filmmaker,” which has begun shooting this month. “National Born Filmmaker” focuses on the story of two filmmakers as their Hollywood dream that turns into a nightmare. Zombies included.
Described as both a cautionary tale as well as a spoof, "Natural Born Filmmaker" puts a searing magnifying glass on the workings of Hollywood as it reveals what happens when you mix naive producers, shady investors and carefully calculated contracts. And it does it all with a wry sense of self-awareness that hasn’t been captured since “The Bad and the Beautiful.” The resulting mix of horror and hilarity makes for a thrilling rollercoaster ride of raging hostilities, blazing guns and…did we mention zombies?

It's taken a while to get there but finally Phase 4 Films will be releasing the Richard Gray helmed supernatural chiller 'The Evil Within' in early May across both DVD and VOD formats. The movie, which you may recall being previously titled 'Mine Games', stars the sexy horror hottie coupling of Briana Evigan ('Sorority Row') and Julianna Guill ('Friday the 13th'). It's good to hear the pun-esque title dropped in favour of a new effort however what doesn't help of course is the fact that Bethesda Softworks will be releasing a new survival horror game with the same name for the PS4 and Xbox One and other platforms in late August. Joseph Cross ('Lincoln'), Ethan Peck, Alex Meraz, Rafi Gavron and Rebecca Da Costa also star in the project. Check out the artwork and trailer below....

Remember last year when through its Amazon overlords Lovefilm put several pilots online including the pretty good failed Zombieland pilot? Well, they are at it again with ten new pilots, none of which have committed to series yet but with which the lucky few will go to one of those full season exclusive type deals that Netflix do so well.
I don’t know about you but I kind of wish they would just commit to something right out the gate and take the risks, its paid off for Netflix so far and Amazon are attracting some major talent to their stable too.
The pilots include; Bosch a detective show based on a Michael Connelly book series and starring the great Titus Welliver, Kids shows Wishenproof, Hardboiled Eggheads, The JoB and Graff Show and Gortimer Gibbons Life on Normal Street. We also have comedy from The Rebels; a kind of...

A new company has launched into the Australian film distribution sector charging producers a flat fee for its service.
The model varies from a typical film distribution company which takes a percentage of box office revenue.
The Melbourne-based Backlot Studios is led by directors Tony Ianiro and Mark D’Angelo, both most recently of Paramount Pictures.
The company’s first film will be Richard Gray’s Aussie Rules-based film Blinder. It opens on March 7.
D’Angelo told Encore: “Part of our service is to liase with the producers and work with them as to how wide a film should go. Our job is to assess everything on a case by case basis. We can move a bit more fluidly.
Blinder was originally to be distributed this month through Jump Street Films but was dropped after Jump Street formed an exclusive distribution deal with Us-based multi-purpose film company Cargo Entertainment.

It's one hell of a hot horror double act which sees sexy duo Briana Evigan ('Sorority Row') and Julianna Guill ('Friday the 13th') team up for Richard Gray's new time-travel thriller 'Mine Games'. It may still be without an official release date but today we can take a gander at a new piece of teaser art plus a trailer for the thriller. The action of the movie takes place in an abandoned mine discovered below a cabin where a group of college students are hanging out during their Summer break and it seems to be a bit of a blending of Christopher Smith's 'Triangle' and Drew Goddard's 'The Cabin in the Woods'. The new early trailer, revealed by Kaleidoscope, is a tad weak and doesn't yet look totally polished but the flick co-stars Joseph Cross ('Lincoln'), Ethan Peck, Alex Meraz,...
