When some of the house members are talking about how strange their new fill-in paramedic Emma is, Ritter says that although she said she went to Johns Hopkins University for medical school, he called the school and they didn't have a record of her having attended there.
Universities don't just release the academic and enrollment records of their students to strangers who call. In order to get any information about a current or former student, Ritter would have had to make a formal transcript request or present a release form signed by the person in question allowing the school to provide records.
