almost an hour of blah blah before things go wrong
trashgang2 May 2013
That I am the first one to review this flick means a thing. The fact that I never have seen it in a usual shops says something more. But reading specialised magazines and websites told me that this is an post apocalyptic flick. Let me say this. If you didn't knew that from reading it you would never know it by watching this flick.

To me it had an overall western look but sadly with the wrong clothes. But were things did go really wrong is that we do have a lot of blah blah and that almost for 45 minutes were nothing happens until a normal fight. The acting wasn't that good too but that doesn't always makes it a bad movie. But directing and the script is were this flicks fails. There is a lot of shaky shots used were did the viewer can miss a thing here and there and sadly a lot is done off-camera. As a zombie flick it do delivers but you really have to wait until the end. There are a few nasty shots to see but it never really becomes gory. It's the low budget that couldn't afford to give it an extreme nasty gore shots. A lot is CGI too. Guess zombie geeks will love it but for me it took way too long before things really started.

Nifty zombie horror Western mash-up

Warning: Spoilers
Mysterious drifter Shadrach (nicely played by Michael Sharpe) must protect a motley assortment of folks from a zombie outbreak in a small town.

Writer/director James Ryan Guy relates the enjoyable and engrossing story at a constant pace, maintains a tough gritty tone throughout, offers a neat blend of several different genres, stages the zombie attack scenes with aplomb, and delivers a handy helping of bloody gore. A cool little flick.
