The Knights of America, seems reminiscent of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Also the members of the group, such as disenfranchised factory workers, forsaken white males deprived of love and positions of authority, and the use of tiki torch seem to be an allusion to the extreme right-wing movement. Moreover, the Nazis popularized the use of torches during the Nuremberg Rallies of the 1930's. For more information, please consult Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph of the Will (1935).
Based on the flyer in his hand, Albrecht stated the Knights of America, and the possible location of Tessa, would assemble at Rouen State Park. Rouen is also a city in France where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. In William Shakespeare play "Henry VI, Part I", she was depicted as a witch, because she claimed she was guided by the Voice of God. Generally speaking, Joan is seen as a National Savior who helped reunite the country against the English during the Hundred Year War (1337 - 1453). This fact, might be an indication of foreshadowing, that is a hint for what is to come.
Scry is defined as the ability to foretell the future using a crystal ball or other reflective object or surface.
In ancient cultures throughout the world, the raven is seen as a trickster or a messenger of the Gods.
Calling the corners is a short ritual that Pagans, Wiccans, witches, and other magical practitioners do before they begin spellwork or spiritual work. It involves calling on the 4 corners (or directions) of the Earth and the elements they represent. This ritual is used to cleanse your space, ask for protection, and ask for help. It seems to have been popularized in the occult film The Craft (1996).
