Too many questions unanswered

Warning: Spoilers
I must admit I am not sure what to think about "The Dam", because in the end it left me confused and dissatisfied. The "mystery element" is present in the form of mud and a "living" mud sculpture which fascinates Maher, our protagonist. Eventhough the premise seems quite intriguing, this picture, dare I say, leaves too much for interpretation - we don't get to know why was Maher building the mysterious sculpture, why does the sculpture seem alive and is it all real or just a product of his imagination. I am aware that sometimes these types of unanswered questions could make viewers have their own interpretations of the story and thanks to that make the film more enjoyable and interesting. But sadly not in this case - I myself ended up confused, emotionless and with the feeling that I couldn't catch what was the point that this picture was trying to make. Another reason why I won't recommend "The Dam" is also the fact that watching this film felt like eternity, eventhough its runtime is only 80 minutes.
