A big decision for Will.
Sleepin_Dragon31 March 2024
Ye Wenjie returns to the place where events were set in motion, Will is offered a mind blowing proposition.

The cynic in me is thinking there's no chance of a conclusion in the next episode, after this one, it somehow doesn't seem very likely, events are being expanded upon, nothing really looks like coming to a head, I almost done want it to.

You may be a little disappointed if you're wanting action, and those marvellous special effects, this is very much more an episode all about character development. I enjoyed it, interesting, revealing, just not very exciting.

Alex Sharp and Liam Cunningham were both excellent I thought, very different actors and characters, but the results are so good, Will's story has become so interesting.

I hope it's a big end to the series, it promises much.

7/10.

why would they bother?
Rob-O-Cop16 April 2024
Seriously, why would they bother sending assassins around the world to knock off people who pose absolutely no threat to them. It just defies any sense of logic. It's a waste of effort. Why aren't they trying to knock off Wade? He's the main threat to them. Not some old lady with no power.

Same with old Samwell Tarley, it was pointless, there are so many higher targets to be bothered with. And if they've got these magic proton computers darting around the world why bother with the cloak and dagger stuff, why not crash the plane she flew over on.

It makes no sense and makes it seem like the show runners are in it for the titillation. They want to have a nutjob assassin in the show doing psycho things, so that's the only reason for titiana and her plot points.

Boring and melodramatic

Warning: Spoilers
This series is going downhill quickly. I'm starting to really despise the main characters and I'd be lying if I wasn't secretly hoping Ye Wenjie would go ahead and make that jump. If the goal was to make her a very hateable character, then the writers succeeded. Thank goodness Tatiana showed up to sort of move things along. And Will is a nice guy and all but his story isn't worth spending entire episodes on. Picturing his head being stuffed into the capsule legit made me laugh out loud. The early scene with the CGI chimp was ridiculously cheesy. Makes Project X look eons ahead of its time. And if I have to deal with another episode of Augie moping around and pouting I just might smash my iPad.

Another one bites the dust
dierregi30 April 2024
One of the few remaining but disposable white males in the show is going to depart our sorrowful planet - metaphorically and literally. Will, or just the best part of him, is sent to the sky (literally), after having spent 19.5 million to buy a star for Jin, because he was madly in love with her even if they have zero chemistry, but after all they're physicians...

After a lengthy, soppy goodbye scene the show is finally ethnically cleansed from the embarrassing presence of the remaining British white male.

Elsewhere, nano-girl boss Auggie decides to flaunt her moral standard by metaphorically mounting on her high horse and riding away in the sunset. Probably her ego wasn't pampered enough, as a mere member of the Staircase Project. Probably they should have kissed her B side more.

Finally, Tatiana the ruthless killer-girl boss is resurrected for a mission to eliminate the now useless Dr. Ye. Not that I am sad about Ye's demise, even if I share her point of view about humanity, but this makes one wonder why the omnipotent girl boss Sophone needs to move her agents around the world to eliminate a useless and powerless old woman. Would you bother so much to squash a bug that's crawling out of your garden?

Have the writers heard of patents?
MoviesFromMars22 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
While I have been willing to look past the growing flaws in logic of the show, this episode really annoyed me, to the point I had to write a review. The Auggie character grows more annoying and illogical as this show progresses. While I think the actress who portrays her does a good job with what she's given, the character just comes off abrasive, and I now cringe every time she's on screen. Are we supposed to relate and be rooting for her? Because I am not. This episode really highlights the flaws in the character and with the other "scientists" on the show. They don't seem to know how the world or science works.

Case in point with Auggie and her "feud" with her "boss." It made no sense. She went on a rant about copyright and gave examples of how clean room techniques could get around it, etc... Except copyright is not what would be used here, there's a thing called patents. And yes any company with a breakthrough technology would defend it aggressively and would likely win. In the show they portray it like she made some genus checkmate move, she didn't.

Sure this is a minor plot point, but it is just one of a long string of nonsensical actions taken in the storyline. There are bigger issues with the plot like Ye Wenjie being killed by an "assassin." If the people of earth are nothing but bugs, why didn't they just crash the plane she boarded? Or for that matter just wipe out all of humanity? Given the supposed power they have, it could be easy done. Then they would have a vacant planet waiting for them in 400 years, problem solved. Maybe there's more to it that will explain why in future seasons, but I'm really struggling to suspend my disbelief. They have built up the aliens to be way too powerful, so it's hard to believe any of their actions now. Especially with what happens in the next episode.
