A gritty start to the new series.
Sleepin_Dragon26 July 2023
On a late night shift, Jenn receives an emergency call to attend the scene of an arson. She arrives to find a tragedy, a family house has been firebombed, the family's mother, Beth Metcalf didn't make it out alive.

So, it's now into its fourth series, and I worried that it may be getting a little tired, bus as that opening music played, and that big opening went down, I was hooked.

The whole point of the opening episode in a six part series I'd now argue, is to intrigue, grip, entertain and sometimes shock the viewer, I'd argue this ticked three of those boxes.

I thought the opening scenes were very dramatic, and actually quite sad. We don't know enough yet to start formulating any theories or opinions, it's still very early days for the story.

How much is Joe Armstrong starting to look like his dad!!! I think we're seeing glimpses here of the talent that runs in the family.

I'm not sure the path the story is going to go down, but so far, so good.

8/10.
