It's not the first time that a movie was made with this title. Previously, it was pretty much pornography, as the bride disrobes entirely for the marital bed. Here, though, it's far more charming, as she orders the groom to stay behind the screen, and not look.... and he finds it impossible not to peek.
Even the strip tease ends far short of earlier efforts, with the woman wearing a lot of underclothes as she slips under the covers, wh ile the ardent groom kisses her hand.
Most interesting, the groom seems to be played by Max Linder. The print was not sharp enough for me to identify him with certainty, but I'm waiting for some other enthusiast to confirm my identification.
PS my go-to resource of people with far better facial recognition than I, say it isn't Max. Still pretty good!
