Last week, Dominic Monaghan sent our nostalgic little hearts all aflutter when he tweeted a picture of his mini-reunion with Lord of the Rings co-stars Billy Boyd, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom.
With The Hobbit trilogy now concluded and Peter Jackson having theoretically said goodbye to Middle-earth forever, Monaghan's post got us thinking about the rest of the Fellowship. Below, we take a look at all nine members of the Fellowship and what they're up to today.
Elijah Wood (Frodo)
After Frodo said his goodbyes and departed for the Undying Lands (don't pretend you're not tearing up at the mere memory), Elijah Wood veered away from blockbuster lead roles in favour of an eclectic mix of indie movies comprising the great (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), the good (Everything Is Illuminated) and the ugly (Green Street).
His most memorable post-Frodo role has to be mute, cannibalistic serial killer Kevin in Frank Miller's Sin City,...

Jake Gyllenhaal cop drama was the only film to deliver a gross in excess of £1m, though Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine sneaked a nifty total to become his biggest ever opener

• Read the archive of Charles Gant's UK box office reports
The winner
Late September, rarely a robust time for UK cinemagoing, continues the seasonally becalmed pattern. Overall, the 27-29 September session represented the third worst weekend for box office in the past year. Given that the previous frame delivered the second worst, it's clear just how sluggish the market is right now.
The only film delivering a weekend gross in excess of £1m was Prisoners, starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. Aside from the previous weekend, when Rush held on to the top spot with £1.34m, Prisoners' £1.37m tally is the lowest for a No 1 film since Dredd landed...

Do you feel like dancing? You will after watching the portrayal of Scotland's drug-fueled club scene provided by Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy, which is now available on VOD. Directed by Rob Heydon and featuring compelling performances from its lead actors, Adam Sinclair and Kristin Kreuk, the film follows two star-crossed lovers (he's a drug smuggler; she moonlights for Scotland Against Narcotics), as they attempt to kick their mutual habit. Going cold turkey and cutting ties with the drug world, Lloyd (Sinclair) makes the ultimate sacrifice for the woman he loves. Many of the love scenes between Sinclair and Kreuk take place against the backdrop of the UK's raging club scene. Inspired by the pulsing beats, flashing lights, and drug-filled milieu, we look back at the evolution of the club scene by highlighting 10 important cinematic scenes, some with which you will be familiar, and some that may surprise you... ★☆☆☆☆ Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy (2011) is an adaptation of the acclaimed Scottish writer's novel The Undefeated, the third in a trilogy. Perhaps director Rob Heydon thought that Welsh's name, coupled with the word 'Ecstasy', would kick-start an excitable response in fans of the cult smash Trainspotting, brought to the big screen in 1995 by Danny Boyle. But whilst Boyle has since moved on to bigger things, Heydon's furiously flogs this dead horse, resulting in a clichéd, tedious 100-minute effort.

Marley (15)
(Kevin Macdonald, 2012, Us/UK) 145 mins
Authoritative to the point of exhausting, Macdonald's documentary compiles an awesome amount of footage, photos, interviews, etc – but then it's a big subject. Whether you really get to the man beyond the legend is debatable (this was made with Marley family backing), but there's much here you've never seen, from Bob's Rasta roots to his kick-around in London's Battersea Park.
Salmon Fishing In The Yemen (12A)
(Lasse Hallström, 2012, UK) Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt. 106 mins
An incongruous setting for a mushy fish-out-of-water romcom, with Blunt and her sheikh boss lured by McGregor's tackle.
Elles (18)
(Malgorzata Szumowska, 2011, Fra/Pol/Ger) Juliette Binoche, Anaïs Demoustier. 99 mins
Empowerment and eroticism mix uneasily when Binoche's enquiries into student prostitution affect her own life.
Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy (18)
(Rob Heydon, 2011, Can) Adam Sinclair, Kristin Kreuk, Billy Boyd. 99 mins
Rave-era yarn that's 15 years too late to be the Trainspotting of Mdma it wants to be.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: I celebrate all levels of trailers and hopefully this column will satisfactorily give you a baseline of what beta wave I’m operating on, because what better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? Some of the best authors will tell you that writing a short story is a lot harder than writing a long one, that you have to weigh every sentence. What better medium to see how this theory plays itself out beyond that than with movie trailers? Ecstasy Trailers One of the things about trailers is that they come in many iterations and, for a single film, you can sometimes have an...

Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy - based on The Undefeated novella from Ecstasy: Three Tales Of Chemical Romance - is finally making its world premiere at this year's Toronto Film Festival, after 10 years in production. Like cult hit Trainspotting, it deals with the impact of drugs on people's lives but when I catch up with up-and-coming star Adam Sinclair, he insists that the film must be taken on its own terms.
"It's got a lot to live up to," he admits. "Trainspotting was a groundbreaking movie and we're not trying to be...
