- Erica, now officially in charge of the global Fifth Column, leads them in a high risk attack against Anna. Anna meanwhile, growing closer in her plan to destroy humanity, finds a major obstacle in a certain Live Aboard candidate; and Ryan sneaks back onto the Mothership to try and rescue his daughter.—ABC Publicity

In Beijing a boy in a V peace ambassador jacket begins bleeding from the eyes and foaming at the mouth.
On the NYC mothership a woman screams as her DNA is extracted. Anna is happy and says when the last of the live aboards arrive the next day they'll have all the DNA they need, and since they have "decapitated" the Fifth Column they should be good to go with their breeding plans.
At FC HQ Erica informs her FC lieutenants around the world what the plan is: Anna wants to steal their DNA so they're going to infect one of the live-aboards with a DNA-altering flu virus that will contaminate the entire pool of stolen human DNA when it's added to the mix. The lieutenants are psyched and Erica says she's ready to be the leader. Chad goes to get the list of the live aboards around the world so it can be done in every city. The rest of the gang is going to heist the virus and Sid is going to prepare it.
Joshua informs Anna that two candidates are sick from a weird illness, the boy in Beijing and another in Johannesburg.. Rafael's still their best option. Anna says her other queen egg is getting good though, so unless Lisa hops in the sack with Rafael, Anna's going to have her killed.
Anna confronts Lisa about rejecting Rafael and wants to know she'll make the right choices when the time comes. Lisa says she will.
Thomas tells Anna about a woman resistant to becoming a live aboard with her daughter-- whose strong immune system DNA the Vs need. She wants to meet Anna first. And Anna is happy to appeal to her mother to mother.
The FC gang plan the heist of the flu virus from a small but well-guarded lab. Jack wants to go non-lethal since they're not V guards. Sid doesn't want to go at all, but they need him to pick the right virus. Erica says it's not a debate over whether Sid comes, over Jack's objections.
Anna meets Melissa, the mom of the girl with the high immune system. She's worried her young daughter will have no other kids to play with. Anna confides to Melissa that she has another daughter of her own, besides Lisa, named Amy the same age as her little girl Jennifer.
Ryan plays with his steadily growing daughter. Security comes in and takes her away. They try to kill Ryan but he fights back and kills his attacker instead with an immolation gun.
He confronts Joshua in the lab with the gun asking where his daughter is. He says she's with Anna, heavily guarded, and in need of bliss to stay ouf of pain. Ryan says Joshua can cure her. He says he can't. Ryan tries to remind Joshua of when he was FC and says he hopes he finds his humanity again. Then he knocks him out.
Erica, Jack, Sid, and Hobbes steal the virus from the lab, knocking out two guards and shooting another along the way. Hobbes is also shot. Erica claims she knew the guard she shot was wearing a vest. Jack isn't so sure and is clearly increasingly worried at the "screw the collateral damage" ethos at work. Back at HQ, Jack patches up Hobbes while Sid prepares the virus. Erica has a moment with Hobbes that Jack sees and is clearly jealous of. The jets to take the virus around the world are ready. They await Chad and his list of live aboards.
Thomas tells Anna that Ryan is on the loose. As they look at Ryan's daughter, Anna says playing her mom will be a snap because she's the only mother the girl has ever known and she takes away her pain. (The little girl doesn't know that Anna's the one causing it.)
Rafael arrives and Lisa says she's ready. They make out and Tyler enters and tells him to get away from her. They fight and then Rafael bleeds from the eyes and mouth and collapses like the kid in Beijing (and Johannesburg).
Chad arrives with the list. Sid points out there are potential side effects.to the DNA-altering virus for the people carrying it, including death. Jack is mad Erica didn't tell him this. She points out he wouldn't have come this far if she had. He wonders if this is what they do now, lie to each other. Hobbes says there's no time for conscientious objectors. Chad is now also a little skittish that what they're doing could kill human. Erica tells Jack that when he was in the army he followed orders and that's what he should do now..
Hobbes and Erica infect the live-aboard guy by dosing his coffee at a coffee shop.
Joshua tells Anna that Rafael is on life support. The candidates' DNA is breaking down for some reason and they won't be able to cure them until they acquire DNA from the live aboards.
Lisa visits Rafael in the lab. Tyler comes in to apologize. She says there are some things she can't explain to him, bigger than the two of them, but if he really cared about her and trusted her he wouldn't have acted the way he did. He says that's exactly why he did act that way and if she was human she would understand. She asks him to leave.
Other FC lieutenants check in from around the world saying the virus was given to the peeps. All they can do now is wait.
The live aboards arrive on the mothership. Jennifer and Melissa arrive looking forward to meeting Amy. Anna tells Thomas to have Joshua do DNA extraction immediately on Jennifer. The guy with the virus looks around in wonder but then starts to feel sick and passes out. He's alive but has been sedated. They discover the virus altering his DNA. They are relieved they didn't mix his DNA with the others since it could have contaminated it all. Anna is livid and says the other ships need to re-screen the live aboard candidates and then kill the ones with the virus. The cover story will be that they were FC.
Ryan corners Lisa and asks for her help, to get his daughter back and get off the ship. He says she doesn't have to follow Anna's path and that the previous queen was nothing like Anna. Lisa takes Ryan to Diana. She tells him of secret escape pods in the ship and asks only that he return he favor in the future. In the meantime she says she can bliss his daughter and keep her safe. She is amazed that he is the father of hybrid and can scarce believe what this means for the survival of their species. She tells Ryan any enemy of her daughter is a friend of hers.
Chad's on the air and reports on the FC "attack" on Anna and the Vs. He says the Vs report that the people were suicide bombers. The gang at FC HQ and around the world watches sadly. The Lieutenants are disappointed. But Erica says while the plan may not have been perfect they prove to Anna that the FC is back, powerful, and aware of her plans. Erica says they will stay on the offensive. Hobbes lauds her for a well-done. Jack looks stricken. Erica confronts him after Sid and Hobbes leave. He calls her an effective leader but says 28 innocent people are dead and that must be acknowledged and wonders why she won't. She won't apologize. She says this is a war with billions of lives at stake. He says he refuses to believe that there isn't a part of her that doesn't see the tragedy here. She says the only tragedy is the DNA bombs failed.
Ryan is leaving and gets a last look at his daughter on a screen beaming out the feed from Lisa's jacket, as she tells Anna that she's ready to be the next queen. Ryan apologizes to his daughter's image and says he'll come back for her. He finds one of the escape pods and, fittingly, escapes.
Jennifer gets her DNA harvested. The DNA mixture is complete. Anna says to give it to the boys, first Tyler.
She tells Thomas they must ID the new leader of the FC before they grow too strong.
Lisa reports to Diana and thanks her for helping Ryan. Diana says it was good to bring him to her, that he feels emotion like them, as does Anna who won't admit it. Diana tells Lisa to reach out for help, to someone aboard ship that Diana trusts, someone who needs to know Diana is alive. Lisa goes and tells Marcus about Diana.
At home Erica looks at pictures of Joe. She calls Jack. He ignores the call. She leaves a message saying she knows that today was hard and to please call her when he gets this. Her doorbell rings, it's Hobbes. He figured she could use a friendly face after a day like today. He offers her a bottle and says she did "bloody good." He goes to leave and she invites him in and pours them a drink from the bottle and they banter. He sees a picture of Tyler and Joe and asks how she's holding up. She says truthfully she doesn't know, she's just trying to stay tough. He says he knows the feeling, since he had someone he cared about once and that she died. He promises her that they're going to get Tyler back. They touch hands. They kiss. She stops and then they start again. They bang into walls as they make out, on their way to banging each other.
Anna calls in Tyler and says he's becoming quite a pilot and it's time to prepare his body for interstellar travel. They say the injection will allow his body to survive in deep space. Anna administers the injection saying it's an important moment for humans and Vs. Tyler says it didn't hurt a bit. Anna says she would never hurt him, or harm any human being.
