Prime Video’s The Boys spinoff, Gen V, explores how young superheroes learn to handle their special abilities. It’s not like they can practice setting themselves on fire or altering their size at a normal high school, so these budding superhero superstars attend Godolkin University. (Think Hogwarts but for supes.)
Prime Video promises this spinoff will retain the dark humor of The Boys while focusing on the next generation of supes.
“I think part of the thing that audiences love is that they’re taking the piss out of all of the exhaustive superhero explorations that we’ve seen and turning it all on its head,” explained Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios in an interview with EW. “But I actually think they’ve done it so well that they have earned the right to expand and explore. So, the same irreverence that The Boys has is in Gen V.

Abby Lee Miller's expanding her empire beyond the walls of the Abby Lee Dance Company. Lifetime has picked up her new reality competition series "Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition," which will feature 12 dancers ages 6-13 competing for a $100,000 cash prize and a scholarship to the Young Dancer Program at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York.
The "Dance Moms" instructor will act as judge along with Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin and choreographer Richard Jackson. Kevin Manno of MTV's "The Seven" will host.
Each week, the panel of judges will eliminate one of the young dancers, and naturally, given Miller's roots, drama involving the dancers' moms will be a key component of the show as well.
Lifetime has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is set to premiere this fall. ...

When Kevin Jonas and bodyguard Big Rob called into "The Seven" on Thursday to talk about the X the Text campaign they're involved in with Allstate, the elder statesman of the Jonas Brothers commented on Demi Lovato, who left her tour with the JoBros last month to seek treatment for personal issues.
The guys have remained mum on the subject since Lovato left the tour, not addressing the matter until now, when they sent the singer/actress their well-wishes.
"I really haven't had any contact [with her]," Kevin said on "The Seven." "Of course, we wish her well in her recovery."
On the subject of texting, host Julie Alexandria asked Kevin if the rumor was true that middle Jonas brother, Joe, texted Taylor Swift back in 2008 to end the pair's relationship.

MTV has assigned one of its juggernauts to ring in its New Year's Eve special. "Jersey Shore" star Snooki will climb into a ball that is lowered into New York's Times Square as part of "MTV New Year's Bash".
Snooki is not the only "Jersey" cast to appear at the live event. The Situation would lead the crowd for a serious fist-pumping in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record. Meanwhile, DJ Pauly D would be the official DJ of the night.
Rapper Flo Rida is tapped to perform two songs while Whitney Cummings is one of the comedians who would give their unique take on the music, TV shows, Internet happenings, relationships and douche bags who made 2010 an unforgettable year, MTV said.
The hour-long show will be broadcast live from the MTV studios in Times Square with Cummings as the host. There will be additional reporting of the...
