Director Mark Maine graduated from Clairemont High School, which was the inspiration for Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). Being that it's his Alma Mater Mark Maine decided to showcase the Varsity Football team during the opening credit sequence. So he filmed the Clairemont High "Chieftains" playing the Morse High "Tigers" during their last official game of the 2011 season.
Mark Maine selected and placed the song "Tears of a Clown" sung by Ally Maki in both of his films Music High and Beach Bar: The Movie (2011). The song was re-mastered by Tom Voris and The FABulous Rudies and produced by Thomas DellaVecchia. The very familiar song score was originally written and produced Stevie Wonder and then the lyrics were written by Smokey Robinson and in 1967 the song was made famous by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles.
