Sure, it's a commendable thing to try and take an original approach to a standard horror film premise, but it's another thing to do something so outlandish that the film loses all touch with reality. The horror genre asks for the greatest suspension of disbelief out of any genre, but there is always some kind of emotion or being able to relate to a character or event in a film that helps to keep them credible. Without credibility, there is a distance between the viewer and the film as that ability to relate to something in the film is missing.
