Bob Hoskins previously played Smee in Hook (1991). This was the first time when the same actor played the same character in two completely different stories involving other overlapping characters in two forms of media.
The Lost Boys have the same names as in the story by Barrie. Tootles can also be remembered as the name of the Lost Boy who "lost his marbles" in Hook (1991).
Charlie Rowe was originally cast as the 12-year-old Charles Xavier in X-Men: First Class (2011). However, he was ultimately replaced by Laurence Belcher as the shooting schedule of the film conflicted with that of Neverland (2011).
The ship that serves as the "Jolly Roger," Captain Hook's ship, is actually the "Neptune." This is a replica of a 17th century Spanish galleon that was originally built for Pirates (1986), Roman Polanski's infamous box-office bomb. (The ship itself accounted for one-fourth of that film's $30 million+ budget.) The "Neptune" is now a floating museum in the harbor at Genoa, Italy.
