The Brother-in-Law
claudio_carvalho28 December 2021
When Patrick Jane receives a phone call of his estranged brother-in-law Danny Ruskin asking for help, he heads to the place and stumbles upon a murder scene. Immediately after, police Detective Reece arrives at the scene and arrests Patrick, who is holding the murder weapon, but Lisbon resolves the situation. They identify the victim as the investor Landon Wale and they head to his house, where they interview the widow Concetta Wale and learn that a valuable Aphrodite statue is missing in the safe. Soon the team discovers that Danny was planning a financial scam with an associate and Landon was broken and eager to invest with Danny. Danny also informs that he had not killed Landon. Who might be the murderer?

"Cackle-Bladder Blood" is another good episode of "The Mentalist", where Patrick Jane meets his brother-in-law, the con-artist Danny Ruskin, and his old friends from the circus. Once again, Patrick tricks his suspect and plays a prank to catch the killer. My vote is eight.

It's probably challenging to make such a bad episode

My overall rating of "The mentalist"'s Season 3: 4/10.

So when it comes to good things in this episode: there is that joke about Jane's name, and there are a couple of hot actresses. When it comes to bad things: unsympathetic, unlikeable, infuriating characters; braindead plotline that a children's cartoon would refrain from using; a bad moral; uninteresting dialogues; tired, same-old climax; continuity errors through the freaking roof!..

And to think we get this episode before Kristina's plotline's resolution - a truly insidious padding act!
